We had the good fortune of connecting with Tal Shachar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tal, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since I was young music was a big part of my life. When I was about 16 I started writing songs and playing the guitar and singing.
I just knew right away that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I grew up on Classic Rock obviously and it was very hard to find that point where you set yourself apart from others in Rock music, but I realized that coming from Israel to Los Angeles, the experiences I’ve had to go through there brought my way of writing and composing music differently. “I was influenced by many bands such as Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Guns N Roses and my life experiences that made me want to create more than just classic rock music. I wanted to create a new kind of Rock mixed with my life experiences and the new age culture
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
West Hollywood is practically my home and go to place – It was the first placed I lived in when I moved to the US til today. LOVE THAT PLACE! Obviously I would take them to the Grove to watch a movie and get some lunch.
The Sunset strip is a must see area with all the grand history that this place has to offer from the music business and beyond, starting from a Whisky a-go-go concert and going to the Rainbow Bar & Grill afterwards.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I met Chen (The Secret Saints guitar player) and together we just clicked in no time, wrote music, opened for Guns N Roses which was nothing more than a dream which eventually came true. We push each other to become better at what we do.
