We had the good fortune of connecting with Tami Fashina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tami, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Self-belief is the most important aspect of making it as a professional in the entertainment industry. The industry is notoriously difficult to break into in all aspects, however, as a young professional you have to believe more than anything that you have the ability to do it. When that belief is there, other things will fall into place.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a talent sided entertainment attorney. The road here definitely was not easy as entering this field requires extensive training, professional sacrifices and creating an expansive network. While obtaining the technical skills needed was not easy, as someone who is not American and was not based in Los Angeles, creating a network over a relatively short amount of time with no previous connections was particularly challenging. However, you have to force yourself into entering certain spaces and make the most of your opportunities by presenting the best version of yourself possible. This does not mean being insincere, as this is very easily spotted out, but just allowing yourself to show what you have to offer as a person and as a professional.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends deserve a lot of praise for their ongoing encouragement and support of my goals. It would not be possible without them. UCLA Law also deserves a lot of praise for providing the resources and guidance that allowed me to become an entertainment lawyer.
