We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamika J. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamika, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted the tea experience to be healing, fun, sexy, cool and luxurious. We often think of tea as this quick experience, you place the tea bag in your mug and pour hot water and voila you have your tea! Here at Taomi Tea N Treats, preparing your tea is a part of your self love and healing journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my desire to elevate the tea experience. Here at Taomi Tea N Treats we have Minty Cool Pre Rolls, DayDreaming Teamimosa, Taomi Tea Mango Smoothie, Taomi Tea Sangria, Taomi Tea Latte and so much more.

The journey is still not easy but I love the reaction when people try my tea! It brings a huge smile on my face. I love all my loyal customers aka Taomians! They don’t play about their Taomi Tea! Lol!

Taomi Tea N Treat Blends:

“Justine’s Miracle Haitian Tea” (Named after my mommy)

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to Temecula Winery! I went for the first time a few months ago and I fell in love! The view and the wine were amazing. I would also take my best friend hiking and we would finish our hike and drink some cold Minty Cool Tea!! hmmm …that sounds so refreshing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out my mother, Justine and my sister Naomi. My mother is the heart and reason for my love of tea and my sister is one of my biggest supporters. I remember my sister and I were walking around in the mall and we passed this tea store. We went inside and the fresh aroma of tea leaves smelled so good! I told my sister, “I would love to open a tea cafe, where it’s just tea no coffee.” My sister supported my decision and fast forward I now have my own tea business called Taomi Tea N Treats. Taomi is a blend of my name and my sister’s name.
