We had the good fortune of connecting with Tania Villegas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tania, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is that whatever or wherever I am lacking, ie confidence, boundaries, or communication skills, I will learn this through my business. Through the journey of entrepreneurship, you learn a lot about yourself and these life skills show up in your work. It is something that comes with the territory, you won’t be able to hide from it. It teaches you responsibility, accountability, honesty, humility, courage, grit, boundaries, communication, interpersonal skills and so much more. It’s like the version of you before the business was just scaffolding and the version of you in business is the building. It’s almost like it tears you apart and builds you back up with the good stuff, the strong foundation. I think it’s key to self-improvement and growth, business and personal.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Healing with Tania because we essentially heal together. Healing is not a destination, it is a journey and to say I am a healed individual would be far from the truth, we heal until the day we transition into another life. At the age of 16, I encountered a drastic life experience. I survived a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that caused me to be in a coma for more than a week due to a fatal car accident. Fatal because this car accident was decreed by fate. Unbeknownst to me my growth and expansion would result from this tragic life incident.

My life was forever changed, and thereafter is when I saw life through a different lens. I am most proud of how my personal healing journey is what caused me to do what I do for a living. I don’t think I would be the first person to say that personal life experiences determine your passion or career.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting from out of town I would take them to Zumba Beach and eat at Malibu Seafood. At night we would go to Motown on Mondays at the Short Stop in Echo Park to see my favorite DJ, DJ Jedi. We would check out the Getty Museum and have a Trader Joe’s picnic there. At night we would have dinner at Ospi in Venice. Miniature golf would be our next venture and then watch a movie in north Hollywood at the Laemmle. We’d go to the Lacma museum and eat at Masa again in Echo Park, they have the best Italian food there. I would take them to see a DJ and have brunch at Escala in Korea town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my co-workers Christina Solis, and Nicole Stoehr for believing in me and showing how much I impacted them. My Crystal healing teacher, Jules Davis, who has encouraged me along the way, The book that gave me a big push to take a step forward, “You are a badass” by Jen Sincero. Reading her book gave me a big boost of confidence in myself and in my dreams. I am so grateful to everyone who believed in me.
