We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Burke-Wormley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
May 2019 I created a virtual community on Facebook called Medical Moms of NICU helping NICU Moms, Life after NICU Moms, and NICU Moms of Medically-Complexed Miracles navigate the medical system with ease by sharing NICU stories, NICU advice, and NICU resources. My welcome to motherhood journey begin in the NICU right after a miscarriage. My firstborn Jaleel was born with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5. I found myself a Medical Mom as my son required gtube feeds, dialysis, many medications, therapies, and complex care appts. Throughout this 4 year journey I became a Medical Mom advocate sharing Medical Mom tips on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok that can help raising medically-complexed miracles.

2020 I provided 21 “All About Mom Care Packages,” as the NICU Mom is often forgotten as much of the attention is focused on NICU Baby. However, the NICU Mom needs selfcare as she has to be nurtured with food, water, rest, and hygiene items so she can better nurture her baby through the medical challenges.

What should our readers know about your business?
My husband & I own a family-owned business Absolutely Rich Nut Butter LLC (est 2021) providing USDA organically rich nut butter to promote health and wellness the whole family can enjoy. Our peanut butter is a healthy snack with flavor that helps busy moms-on-go get natural energy and their children. Our peanut butter is a recommended dip on veggies, fruits, and delicious spread on grains. As a NICU family we often found ourselves emotional snacking due to the stress of medical challenges, but we decided to create a healthy snack that our customers can enjoy without the guilt. Our business took time to build as our oldest child was in the NICU 157 days, overcame 21+ procedures, and he has recently recovered from kidney transplant and cancer treatment in 2021. We also are Pandemic Parents of 2 under 2, so our life can be super busy. Now that our oldest son Jaleel is healthy to attend developmental preschool we can focus on promoting our brand locally at marathons, farmer’s markets, and food festivals along with stocking our nut butters at local grocery stores. Our 3 children under 5 show us patience, faith, unconditional love, and hope which is key to driving our brand. We want to serve our community with integrity. Our slogan “We are what our label states, helping our customers return to their Natural State (Arkansas). You can find out more info about us www.absolutelyrichnutbutter.com

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would take a trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas where we could enjoy a Magic Show, Gangster Museum, Magic Springs Waterpark, or enjoy a deluxe selfcare package at Hot Springs Bathhouses including hot sea salt baths, massage therapy, medi/pedi, and facials! We could later go eat some cuisine at The Porterhouse for steak and seafood along with wines, and shop at the local boutiques.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I like to give a shoutout to Miracle Mamas LLC founder Ebony Ford, who provides Preemie Moms with support through her journey with her Preemie daughter, March of Dimes, and Virtual Game Nights on Zoom for Moms to Destress. I highly recommend you support her by tapping into her community on Clubhouse and her Instagram Miracle Mamas LLC.
