We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Bre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tara, how does your business contribute to your community and make a difference to others?
BreLuxe Beauty was build by Artists to Support Artists! We do that by connecting and supporting the Artist community by referring them to work, bringing them on big productions, and offering education and mentorship as they grow in their careers. Now more than every the Artist and Creative community is hurting and we see it firsthand, that is why we have launched Virtual Beauty Sessions to help artists provide their service, virtually. The Virtual Beauty Sessions we created are not designed to sell the client anything more than the current products they have! Our goal is to help clients with their beauty needs and offer our expertise over a video conference versus in person! We use the client’s beauty bag and can offer suggestions for missing products from our Online Beauty Boutique. Some sessions are designed to be a consultation, where we just chat about beauty and the new roles the client is facing, much like a Beauty Therapy Sesh! Other sessions are designed to give the client a Training Workshop, which is more of a hands-on Beauty Training where the Beauty Pro can guide you step by step to creating a look! This was our response to 2020, helping Artist continue to do what they love and what they are skilled in doing, BEAUTY SERVICES!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Breluxe Beauty is a leading Wedding & Event Beauty Resource, that is our specialty and how we are positioned in the marketplace. Tara Bre, a creative powerhouse, started the company in 2009 in Orlando, Florida, as a way to live the dream she was denied in college. Breluxe started as a side hustle while she built a career with a global insurance provider in sales, marketing and portfolio management. In 2010, Tara Bre & the company relocated to Los Angeles, CA to start growing and expanding the dream even more, still as a side hustle. The company grew year after year and it was NOT easy! Weddings are a unique space and to become a Wedding Beauty Specialist, it takes real experience and agility to overcome the what if’s. Tara Bre has an insurance career background, so naturally, she is always thinking of the ‘What If’s” in Life, that is one reason why we can specialize in Weddings, Large Productions, and Once in a Lifetime events. BreLuxe was built by forward thinking. The biggest challenge BreLuxe faced, was graduating to become a start-up, in 2019. Tara Bre left her 14-year professional management career to lead BreLuxe into the future. This change came from passion. Passion for what we do year after year for clients, their friends, and their families! The biggest lesson we learn, is NEVER GIVE UP! Stay focused on the goals and the dreams and they will become your reality! Giving Up is the easy way, staying and learning is the hardest thing for many. BreLuxe is designed to create seamless beauty experiences for everyone! We love the pressure of once in a lifetime events and we operate as a team! Every client is given a concierge to consult with on all their needs and their services are personally set up with our vetted network of beauty specialists, and managed from start to finish! BreLuxe is an experience.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the iconic places first, so they can get their photo ops. Those would be the Hollywood Sign, The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and the Santa Monica Pier on the Beach! After they have seen all of that, I am going to feed them the best food ever. Depending on their taste for cuisine, I would decide. If they are interested in Middle Eastern, I would bring them to Raffi’s in Glendale. If they wanted Chinese, I would bring them to the San Gabrial valley or Chinatown in downtown LA. If they want Japanese, I would bring them to Little Tokyo and so on. After they had their taste of food, I would show them the alleys in downtown LA. This is where they can see the iconic wholesale district and the skid row they always heard about in the movies! Then I would show them housing and see if they want to join us in LA.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest shoutout goes to our BreLuxe Family! Without their support, ideas, and focus on our mission, we would not have been able to pivot so fast in 2020. Without the support of my husband and kids, I would not have been able to work on the new ideas we created, so a huge thanks to them! I also want to thank my network of Wedding Vendors, Artists, and Creatives. During this difficult time, so many have been there to hear our ideas, test our ideas, and support us as we found a NEW way to do what we love to do! The Wedding International Professional Association (www.wipa.org) Organization is the one place that supported us the most, the community, and our struggles in events.
