We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Das and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tara, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I think one of the biggest biases is in my industry of Traditional Chinese Medicine is that acupuncture doesn’t work and that there’s no science behind it, which is simply not true! From a western biomedical perspective, there are hundreds of anatomical points, acupuncture points, with certain electrical properties, that when stimulated, it sends a message to the brain releasing the body’s natural opioids like dopamine, seratonin, and other endorphins. It also brings fresh blood and white blood cells to the area, speeding up the inflammatory process.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being in the Healing Arts Biz, I like to go above and beyond in my practice by incorporating the little touches like heart fire cups and sparkly gem ear seeds. I’m proud of how far i’ve come in terms of cultivating my craft in chinese medicine!- I specialize in pain management as well as fertility support, which I learned at Yo San University- a school in Marina Del Rey for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I try to give each patient a unique treatment tapering to their needs and I get really excited when I see better outcomes/results with each patient.
It was NOT easy to get where I am today! It took a lot of discipline and dedication to my studies.
I’d say my biggest lesson I learned along the way was, as cliche as it sounds, was to follow my intuition…My family had other plans for me in terms of my career but I didn’t listen to them and thank god I didn’t because Chinese Medicine saved my life!
I want the world to learn from me to follow your own unique path and do what makes you truly fulfilled.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man! I love this question! Whenever I have a visitor in LA, I gotta take them to El Matador beach, North of Malibu…it is breathtaking! The food truck/taco scene in LA is a must as well!
And let’s not forget out epic museums like the Getty, Natural History Museum, and the LACMA

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shelley Cerny- My goddess of a mentor! Thank you for guiding me through my business!
