We had the good fortune of connecting with Tavien Bradley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tavien, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Grand Rapids , Michigan not the worse neighborhood but definetly nowhere near the suburbs my city was very boring a bit of gang violence as well as no real opportunities to succeed and better your life beyond a typical high school education but my father always kept music in my life as he is a producer/artist even before I was born when I was around 6 years old my father got in a bad car accident and ended up becoming paralyzed from the waist down shortly after my mother moved us to Van Nuys, California and throughout the years growing up I kind of had a chip on my shoulder cause I felt the need to support my family especially considering my fathers condition

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It all started during covid so around 2020 summer before I previously was infatuated with music and even freestyled for fun during middle school and up . During covid though I reconnected with some old friend from my 7th grade class that also were making music at the time and they invited me to the studio and slowly I started my music career put out my first single “AGAIN” and eventually I realized I was spending lots of money on studio time so I decided why not just learn it myself so I can save money. It was stressful at first cause I was living alone at the time juggling a full time job and coming home every night putting in a extra 6 -8 hours of work in on protools and learning from YouTube videos even when I felt like I couldn’t get any better and I pushed through and kept improving my sound I never gave up once and I learned with music you can’t just do it with false intentions you have to really genuinely love music to truly make it . I just want any potential fans or even just people in general interested in me or my craft to know that I am the type of person to always strive higher I can get a platinum record today and strive for diamond tommorow and I am constantly looking for ways to improve and be even better I put just as much effort as I did into making and learning the music as I do into understanding my fans and the business side of the industry and it’s not nearly as much people that care about music the way I do

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely gotta go hit up universal studios and Hollywood blvd iconic places in LA to go visit if you never been and for sure the beach as well Santa Monica pier is also a great place there’s also plenty of parties and clubs to go to although im not really the club type

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentor for my internship ELL he showed me a lot of game not even just about making the music but the industry as whole without him I don’t think I would have leveled up my sound to where it is now and of course my mother as well even though we didn’t always see eye to eye I know my mom did always help and support me to the best of her ability
