We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Simmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea for my business really started during one of the most difficult seasons of my life – while I was struggling with infertility. During that time, a lot of tears were shed and a lot of googling was done. I found myself going down rabbit holes researching reasons behind my unexplained infertility diagnosis and of course, the number of hormone disruptors that are in our everyday products, especially products we put on our bodies and in our homes along with all the toxic ingredients was a big one. I had always loved taking care of my skin, however throughout high school and early adulthood I struggled with acne and I was frustrated that nothing truly seemed to work. So I figured, why not try making my own?

What started as a personal mission to create toxin free skincare that actually worked slowly grew into something bigger. Then finally, after going through IVF, and welcoming our adorable twins, I eventually expanded into the flower side of the business. That part was not only inspired by my love of flowers, hosting parties, but my desire to bring more beauty and intentionality into everyday moments. By that point, our kids were a little older and I felt ready to grow the brand in another direction.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Rooted In love started from a deeply personal place – navigating infertility and learning just how toxic so many everyday products can be. I didn’t just want a “natural” skincare, I wanted it effective, truly toxin-free products that were safe to use while trying to conceive while simultaneously healing my skin. Every product I create is rooted in that intention.

What also makes us different is the simplicity of our ingredients and the community we have built – especially among women and mothers who want to feel good in their skin and feel confident with what their putting on not only theirs, but their families skin. And now with the flower side of our business, we’re expanding that mission into moments of beauty and connection. It’s really not just about flowers or skincare, it’s about wellness, empowerment, and creating with purpose for special moments. The baby showers, the bridal showers, special events, I am really excited to bring the beauty of flowers and the excitement of building your own bouquet to women and kids across OC.

I couldn’t have gotten where I am today without my husband, truly he has encouraged me and supported ideas, even if they were a little crazy. But it hasn’t always been easy, there have been and still are a lot of days I doubt myself and feel discouraged, but I keep reminding myself that not everyone is a client or friend, and that I will continue to find my people who want more of what I have to offer.

The name, Rooted In Love, came to me during my dark times with infertility and feeling completely overwhelmed, broken and alone. In the middle of all that heartache, I kept coming back to the verse in Ephesians 3:17 where it says “being rooted and established in love.” It reminded me that even when everything feels uncertain or broken, we can still plant ourselves in something stronger- in God’s love, in faith, in hope. That verse carried me through and became the heart of this business, everything I create is a reflection of my journey – grounded in honesty, love and healing.

If you’re walking through something heavy right now, my advice is this; just because it feels dark today doesn’t mean the light isn’t coming. Keep going, keep trying. Even when progress feels slow or there are set backs, when it feels like nothing is working, your story isn’t over. Often times the most beautiful things grow out of seasons we thought would break us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I would for sure plan out the following:

If it were summer time, I’d go to the Sawdust festival for some music, good food, and of course the turquoise booth! On a Tuesday I’d probably want to take her to Cooks Corner for tacos in Trabuco Canyon because let’s face it, it’s a classic spot & it’s our families spot. Since my husband and I are members, for sure we would go to Rancho Capistrano Winery, they have the best salads, the steak salad, and the avocado crunch are my favorite ( At the San Juan location, the Lamb Sliders are 100/10). The Rooftop Bar in laguna is always a hit, especially during sunset, and after a little walk down on the beach. And then of course we would have to have a beach day and have to hit High Tide Coffee in San Clemente, an Iced Ube Matcha latte for me, and an iced coffee, no cream, for her.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A few people I’d like to shoutout;

My amazing husband, Parker, who always supports me, especially on the days I doubt myself.
My parents who happily test and give constructive feedback and they’re also the ones who make the tallow balm for Rooted.
And lastly my best friend, Amanda, who always cheers me on when things get hard both in business and in life, her encouragement has meant more to me than she probably knows.
