Meet Teeshay | Actor, Host, Model, Producer & Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Teeshay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teeshay, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
That Acting is THE most difficult job in the world. First, it’s about making it(which may take a long long time). Then it becomes about sustaining it. All under severe scrutiny and trials, not only from people in general but also from friends and family. But, if one can handle these, it also is the most enjoyable job in the world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my journey in commercials. It gave me so much confidence. Because I got a chance to model for the best brands in commercials. That allowed me to get a chance to work in tv shows and movies in India and then I also ended up hosting for Indian Cricket. All of this happened because of intense training. I trained in martial arts, dance, and acting before entering the business. It was not easy mentally, because there are days and months when you don’t get work and people wonder why are you jobless. It’s a mental thing. But if you see yourself in the bigger picture and have self-confidence then you can navigate through the problems because you have the training to rely on. Los Angeles took my journey a bit further. I got a chance to write, direct, and produce here. It just opened another box of opportunities that I wasn’t aware of. In a nutshell, one should be open-minded when it comes to opportunities and take the risk of achieving them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have a generic plan for all my friends and family who visit. That’s a basic 5-day plan of showing them the obvious things like Hollywood sign, Malibu, Griffith, Rodeo Drive, Runyon Canyon, and more. But if one has more time then I’d take them to Big bear lake, Lake Tahoe, San Diego, Yosemite, and a few more places in and around California. If someone likes adventure, I’d definitely do 6-flags. A few places to eat would be Gracias Madre, Soho, Catch, Thai Vegan, Nobu, and many more. A hike would be great and biking along the Santa Monica and Venice trail is a must-do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Parents above all. God, for keeping me grounded. All the people I’ve been blessed to work with so far. My gurus and teachers who have taught me so much. And four ladies because of whom I am in Hollywood. Wendy Alane Wright, Susan Angelo, Brenda Fisher, and Gina Nuccio.
