We had the good fortune of connecting with Teri N and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teri, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When I was little, my mom signed me up for every possible afterschool club she could. I did a little bit of everything – painting, ceramics, piano, violin, music theory, sports and languages. I loved doing something else every day as well as expressing myself artistically and making new friends along the way. However, when I was around the age of 11, my focus shifted towards the academic path more. I did well in school, but I wanted to do even better. I really was quite a nerd! I spend a lot of time revising for exams and doing my homework, so there was very little time for me to do anything creative at all. It really got out of hand when I went to high school. In the Czech Republic, the education is about memorizing, rather than logical and creative thinking, unfortunately. Therefore, I had to turn my back at music and art for a few years. After so much time in such a stressful and tense environment, I decided that I`d had enough. I realised how much I had missed music and decided to go down the creative route at last.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my humble opinion, Prague is the most beautiful city in the world. It looks so medieval, yet preserved. It`s giant cathedrals and churches are so majestic that they make you feel small and overwhelmed with glory. Prague Castle is definitely worth a visit, as it is the largest castle complex in the world. Other famous marvellous sights in Prague are Old Town Square with the world`s oldest astronomical clock, Charles Bridge with talented street artists and buskers and Dancing House that truly looks as if it was moving to the rhythm of the city life. If you are in Prague during the festive season, having a sip of mulled wine and a bite of trdelnik at the Christmas market is a must. In the summer months, I would recommend hiring a paddle boat so you could enjoy spectacular views while relaxing on the Vltava River on the hot summer days.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who I owe my thanks to, but if I only have to pick one, it definitely must be my friend Hana. We both came to Cardiff at the same time, to do the same thing – to make music. We`ve been on the same boat ever since and let me tell you, that boat was rocking violently! Although Hana had to go through so many personal struggles, she never hesitated to help others. She is so kind, willing and reliable. You can always count on her and she`s up for any mischief! Hana is a talented multi-instrumentalist & music producer who helps others to achieve their dreams and works hard to reach her own goals.
