Meet Terrah Aldi | Choreographer/ hair braider/party entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrah Aldi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrah, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
From a very young age I always knew that I wanted to create or be a part of art. I grew up as a competitive dancer and have followed that career path throughout my life. I have danced professionally and am still a teacher and choreographer. Come to think of it, I have actually never had a job I didn’t love. Sharing my passion for dance is one of my greatest joys. Then, when my daughter was born with amazing hair my love for braiding began. She would grow to challenge me to learn and create fun new styles and that is what brought me to create P and G Parties and P and G Hairstyles. A place where I can spread joy, combine my two loves and have a blast doing it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is ever evolving which makes me so happy. P and G parties is a combination of my two loves… braiding and dance but that is just the baseline. I have always loved to entertain. Being on stage (any stage) is my happy place. I have found throughout my many years of teaching kids that they are by far the best audience. There is something about taking a room full of children on an educational and confidence building journey without them even realizing it because they are having so much fun. A thank you, a hug at the end of class, the look they give themselves in the mirror when they feel like a magical unicorn or just a smile as they say goodbye is everything. It makes all of the hard work worth it. That being said, just because I love what I do doesn’t mean it is always easy. Building a business from scratch without a business model to follow is no picnic. I started really building my business right after my divorce. It was a scary time because I had been a stay at home mom, teaching dance only a few hours a week, for years. I suddenly found myself a single parent with no outside help. I decided then and there that I could build a business that made me happy, left me able to be a mom to my girls and show them that they can do anything with hard work and dedication. Being a one woman show has left me exhausted mentally and physically many nights but the rewards outweigh the challenges.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely do Disneyland, the beach and one or more of the amazing hiking trails in and around LA. I would book a whale watching cruise and definitely do a grown up -wine tasting night. I am vegan and am so thankful for all of the amazing restaurants that provide plant based options so we would be sure to have a few dinners out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My daughters, Nora and Gretta are my inspiration, my world and the reason I do what I do every day.
