We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrell Garnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrell, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, this just came to me. When starting my podcast, “Create Your Own Story,” I never thought it would turn into the podcast it is now. I always knew I wanted to help people, which is why I became a Certified Life Coach. So when transitioning the podcast to be more of a self-help podcast, I knew that just like me, we all have a story, and sometimes we cannot tell that story. So that is the beauty of my podcast. That is what sets my podcast apart from any other. I allow anyone on it to tell their story.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As I have stated before, I am a podcast host, and I never really thought I would ever have a podcast. I worked in the music industry for a while and never really caught my footing; after leaving and becoming a Life Coach. I knew that I always wanted my own TV Show and still work in some shape or form of the music industry. I was so reluctant at first to do the podcast. I didn’t see it. Everyone was telling me to do it, so I leaned in, and everything just flowed so well. The biggest challenge I found was being in my own way. What’s crazy is I have my own show now, and I am helping in the music industry with my podcast. Talk about coming full circle; what I want the world to know about my platform. My platform allows the artist’s fans to get a personal look at them and promote their music by playing it on the podcast. What sets this podcast and interview apart from any other is that it shows people the artist is more than what they do and their talents but that they are human, and it helps people in the process by offering their take on life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a huge foodie, and I love breakfast food. So what’s funny is I haven’t taken my best friend here yet, but in Santa Monica, CA, there is this place called “Bru’s Wiffle” they serve some of the best waffles you will ever have all of the food is so good and so fresh. Also, Venice Beach in the Summer. There is nothing like it. Just all the people, the culture. Then we have Roscoes Chicken and Waffles I mean you know about it but it is legendary. Right after that you gotta swing by the Griffith Observatory. I love astronomy so I think it is such a great place to check out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a hard one because I could name so many people, but honestly, if it weren’t for my friend, my photographer, I would not be doing this podcast. Adrian Insanity pushed me to do my podcast and believed I could do it and make it a success, and even gave me my first Mic so I could live out this new dream. I also have to shout out some of my good friends Recording Artist T’Melle that has always told me I need to get out there and make a name for myself. I have a personality and pushes me to do more. Then also Recording Artist SkyeTunes, who had believed in my visual/creative visions when I didn’t think I was that creative. Lastly, my Brother, Romeo, some of how the podcast works and the questions I ask have come from him, and I am so thankful and grateful for the help they all have given me to push me to the next level.
