We had the good fortune of connecting with Terryne Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terryne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind my business, started with my own insecurities with my skin. A month before I graduated college, I got very sick and after that my skin went through so weird changes. I never experienced skin issues in my adult years and always was complimented on my perfect skin.

Once I moved back to Los Angles, my skin never recovered and began to get worse. I started to become very insecure and self conscious about how I looked. I would avails going certain places where I had to see new people, or just stayed home.

I began experimenting with various products to help me overcome my skin issues. I changed my diet, drank a lot of water, and cut out of a lot of things to eliminate what could possibly be the issue. To no avail, none of it worked.

That’s when I started doing my own research about natural healing properties. I created my first 2 products for myself with the most natural ingredients. I used my creation and watched my acne transform within in days! I was so amazed at the results, and slowly started to get my confidence back.

I jokingly told my sister that I should start selling these products if this is what it did for me. And I did just that! I thought to myself, there are probably so many people who struggle with finding skin care that works. I started selling my first 2 products, which are now Sugar Me Baby and 24k Glow!

My business has expanded from 2 products to over 10 products! As my business and clientele continue to grow, I want to continue making quality skin care for all types of skin and encourage embracing all of the imperfect perfections!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently an Assistant Administrator at New Vision Day Program. We serve developmentally disabled adults within our community. I absolutely love my job! I’ve have always loved to help those around me achieve any goals they set, and encourage them to never give up.

I graduated from the illustrious Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During my summers I would come back home to California and work at New Vision. I started off as a Direct Support Professional working with the clients hands on. I worked my was up to being an office manager, and when I graduated I was offered the position of being an Assistant Administrator.

Getting to this position was not easy and came with many challenges. Being across the country away from my family was one of the biggest struggles. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way, was to never give up, and keep people around you that support and uplift you during your difficult times. I made a life long bond with my friends, who I consider family now.

I want people to know that no matter what obstacles you have in front of you, you are able to overcome them. With hard work, persistence and faith you can accomplish anything you put your mind to!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city are amusement parks, 6 flags, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios! COVID has prevented us from doing many things we love, and I can’t wait to get back to those places. I love going to the beach just to relax, bonfire and chill with family. One of my favorite places to eat is Javiers. It’s a new favorite restaurant of mine but I love the vibe and food. I’m truly a homebody and don’t get out much. I really just enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I’m down for spur of the moment fun though. Anything to create memories with my loved ones I’m in!
