We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas “Callus” Cheval and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thomas “Callus”, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I keep creating, listen, and constantly study. Those three alone have given me the most success. Regardless of opportunities taking time to happen, you can still do those three things on your own time. Planning preparation prevents poor performance.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is a representation of who I am as a person. My mission is to show people that this is me by using my music. My proudest moment was when I got my first major placement with Eminem. I had produced a song called “Lucifer off of the “Death of Slim Shady” album. The reception from the album was great. By being part of that project it got me Grammy nomination. The journey was not easy because I had to learn the business in the music industry. It took me years to get where I’m at today but I am grateful that I went through it. The lessons I learned from my journey is to learn everything and develop great relationships with people. You never know who or what these people can do for you. I want the world to know that a new legend is here.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend to some good food spots. As for entertainment, I’m not sure? I’ll be open to ask what he or she would want to do. I’m really not an out going person.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give love and thanks to God, my family and friends
