We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas Fuks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thomas, how do you think about risk?
I believe that if you want to be successful, you have to take some risk at some point and get out of your comfort zone. Hard work, lot of manifestation and attraction, but most important be willing to take some risk.
Without taking risk I would have never been able to start members. Indeed It was in the middle of the pandemic, I had no cash on my bank account, and was already struggling to pay the rent. Nevertheless I took the risk to go into debt with my credit card to make Members happened. The risk was tremendous! Opening an outdoor club in the middle of Covid? I could have get shutdown the first night and loose everything!

I was willing to take some risk because I was already out of my comfort zone during the pandemic.

I think it is important to have some comfort in your private life so you can regroup, recharge the battery. Have a strong confortable and healthy daily routine so you can be out of your comfort zone the rest of the time!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe we are all creative and artistic, it’s inside all of us. Unfortunately we learn from school and society we are living in to draw inside the box. If you want to draw outside the box and be creative you have to do it during your free time! I have always been creating during my free time.

I believe it is important to think out of the box, take the risk to break the code of the industry you are working in through creativity.

At members we are a club, a spiritual temple and a restaurant at the same time within one unique atmosphere. We don’t have intense night club lighting, but yet people comes to party and have fun. At the same time we have delicious Mediterranean food available from 7pm to 1am, also a shaman is here saging the space all night and doing chakra healing to our clients.

Our name is Members but we are not a membership club. We have djs playing every night but we never promote about it.

We want people to come for the unique atmosphere, the food, the music and most important the team. We have an amazing team and we are so grateful for every single employee doing their best every nights.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is such a big city but when I have free time I want to escape. From the craziness of the city. We are lucky to be surrounded by so much nature and beautiful landscape in California. When I have time off I go hiking Angeles forest, kayaking in marina del ray, mountain biking in big bear, and recharging in Joshua tree. When I have friend or family visiting this is what I like to share with them. Because they live in big city’s such New York, Paris or Dubai but can’t access to nature as easy as we can in Los Angeles.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe education from the parents plays a big role in success. If your parents are entrepreneur and teach you about business, hard work, managing your money it will definitely gives you advantages. I am grateful for the education I had. Nevertheless nowadays you have all those information available, on Wikipedia, books on amazon, podcast on your phone etc.

There is one book that change my mindset about my work life. This book is “poor dad, rich dad” by Robert T. Kiyosaki. The more I was reading the more I was realizing that I did not know enough about the entrepreneurial world. Unfortunately we don’t learn those things at school… from that boom I started to read other similar books and listening to podcast etc.

There is one podcast that literally change my life. “The Universal Laws of Success and Achievement” by Brian Tracy. This podcast is next level and I believe EVERYBODY who wants to be successful HAS to listen this podcast over and over again. It helped me to understand so much about MYSELF and others.

Having a mentor is important unfortunately I am still looking for mine! I am the oldest of a family of 7 children. Sometime wish I had a mentor or big brother to help me and guide me. But I am very grateful to have friends, family and my wife to always be here to support me, advice me and help me reach my limits.

I think having a partner that understand your goal and the life you have chosen is very important. As an entrepreneur there are some months that you might work 7/7. Leave early, come back home late, and have no energy left for nobody not even your wife. You just want to spent time alone and recharge your battery. Not every partner will understand that. I am lucky for my wife Abbie to understand it.

It is important as well to find a balance between work and personal life. I am still looking for it!
