We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas Orlina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thomas, what do you attribute your success to?
Perseverance is the most important factor behind the success of the Thomas Orlina brand. I think it’s extremely important to never give up and believe in your mission. When I launched my YouTube series, “Your Time With Thomas,” I began having doubts about releasing it, or what people would think, but once the cameras were rolling and I became more comfortable in my own skin, I realized that I made the right decision in pursuing this personal journey. Now, years later, a feature in Forbes and coverage about my YouTube show internationally, I am grateful that I stayed the course and believed in myself.

My music is something I’ve been very passionate about, which also requires a lot of perseverance. My debut pop dance song, “Brush It Off” debuted with such a positive response from my followers. The song focuses on pursuing your own mission, reaching your dreams, persevering, and highlights various communities such as the Asian-American, LGBTQ, and Gen-Z/Millennial audience. It also touched on topics of cultural conversations like Black Lives Matter and the Stop Asian Hate movement.

I’m excited to share that my new song “Journey” is available now! The music video debuting in 2022 highlights powerful women in entertainment and embodies diversity and inclusion. You can listen to “Journey” on Apple Music, Spotify, and all streaming platforms.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my entertainment career as an on-camera host and producer. Since the release of my interactive lifestyle show, “Your Time With Thomas,” entered the world of music. I have been writing songs ever since I was younger so I always envisioned myself as someone who would release music. I’m really proud of the lives I’ve been able to touch with my show and music platform. I got to where I’m at today by never giving up and my family. The journey was not easy, I was faced with some people who cast a lot of doubt on certain projects, but I’m glad I did what I wanted to do. I told myself to have fun in the process and stay positive no matter what happens, as long as you’re having a good time, just keep going. I want people to know that I’m a genuine artist who creates projects that are intended to impact lives and make people feel good. My brand will always stand for celebrating inclusion, highlighting diversity, and embracing people of all walks of life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Malibu. It’s such an awesome part of California and they’ve got lots of great hiking trails, miles of beaches, and delicious restaurants like “Nobu.” We would then make our way to Beverly Hills to see the stores and admire all of the clothing, go to Downtown LA for rooftop views and lastly drive through West Hollywood to check out the nightlife. Los Angeles is a great place to visit and there are so many wonderful parts of the area to explore.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to my family. I’ve been inspired for a long time by my parents, Tomas & Josephine Orlina, who always showed my siblings and me growing up that anything is possible with hard work. Both my parents juggled two jobs and encouraged me to be whoever I wanted to be. Through all of my passions of wanting to be on-camera including pursuing my music career, I couldn’t imagine this journey without them and their support. My two sisters, Lorene and Toni, and cousin Lionel Orlina are also great role models that I want to recognize. They collectively have a lot of success in their respective careers and have inspired me to go after my dreams.
