Meet Tierra Lyle

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tierra Lyle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tierra, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve never been someone who were ever really afraid to take risks when it came to my goals, and my dreams, or my career in mind. I owe a lot of that to my mother. As a little girl up to now, she has always encouraged my sister and I to go after any and whatever dreams we had or desired! They say charity begins at home, and thankfully I was blessed to have a lot of that in my household, which made me not afraid to take on the risks of this world when pursuing my dreams.
Taking on risks has played a very significant role in my life and career. This year, May of 2025, makes a complete year I’ve moved to California from Mississippi to pursue advances in my career! I moved by myself, without my immediate family, and endured a lot of hardships and trials to get to this point, but my faith is what kept me the entire time! It is Faith that makes risk taking not so scary, when you know God is looking out for you on your behalf. I don’t believe in doing anything outside of the will of God, or those risks you are taking can turn very troublesome. However, if it’s in agreement with God, one can rest assured you’re going to be alright. To me, that’s what risk taking is, taking a leap of faith! There’s a scripture that I feel really aligns with this, in Matthew 17:20. “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” In this season of my life, that scripture has really stuck with me in the midst of all my risk taking and facing any mountains along the way that may come.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At the moment, I am most proud of my current position at Tower Mobility, as a full-time creative strategist as head in my very own department of Marketing. A position like this I’m very proud of and have been wanting something like this for a long time. It is not everyday that someone of my background can achieve a position like this; usually in content creation or social media lead roles, you have to work projects on contracts or have a hard time finding something steady that allows you to really grow into the role. I’m thankful to have been offered something that I love to do! As a creative strategist, I produce content for the team through videography/photography, manage all the company’s social media channels and internal/external communication platforms. I help strategize our upcoming campaigns, content for the weeks or months ahead, broaden research into how to help advance our marketing department even more, and a ton of other things too – I sorta do it all and I manage it all!
Outside of Tower, I still actively pursue exclusive brand partnerships and collaborations for my personal social media platforms,
I’m thankful to have made it this far because I know the example I am setting for others. I’m a 23 year old, black woman in America, from the south, pursuing a content creation and social media management position. In a field that is predominated by white women, I know I can make a lot of little brown girls from the ‘Sip proud! I can teach others that even if you come from a small town, it is still okay to have very oversized dreams!! However, being creative strategist is not the final destination for me, this is just a stepping stone to so much more I would like to pursue. I have interests in being a communication lead and social media management role for multiple companies at the same time, not just one. Ideally I would like to manage many clients and their businesses, maybe become a multi-client creative strategist or have a portfolio career full-time. Outside of that, I also have goals to grow a incredibly successful, high-end fashion brand one day or to be a luxurious event concierge.
Reaching this point of becoming a successful influencer and creative strategist was not easy, but it was my faith that got me through it every time. I want to start back to the very beginning, when I first became a famous “tiktoker”. I started my Tiktok when I had graduated high school. I was a 2020 graduate, so I didn’t get a normal graduation like most kids due to covid and being under quarantine. Before covid got worse, I was in my senior year of high school, I had just moved to a new school due to my parents getting married. At the time, I heard so many kids talking about Tiktok and doing dances around school. I didn’t even have a Tiktok account! After I graduated, with quarantine, everyone was joining Tiktok, so I figured I should too! Prior to Tiktok, I already had a Youtube channel I started at the end of 2019, so altogether I’ve been doing content creation for 6 years! The growth from when I started both platforms to now has been immense!
Starting out I began dancing on Tiktok just like anyone else, than afterwards I started doing comedy and skits. My very first video to ever go viral was my own personal series I created of, “The Rebel and The Good Student”, and it really took off to over 500,000 views!! After that, I started doing more with the series and making fun of movies and shows I had seen growing up. Next, as my channel grew more, I began to turn my audience to Episode: Choose Your Story content from PocketGems gaming. I would make fun of the app, Episode: Choose Your Story, and all the funny things I had seen from the app. Then, before I knew it, I had gained attention from PocketGems and the Episode team, so I reached out about a collaboration together and they agreed to do it! PocketGems was my very first and still is one of my biggest collaborations I’ve ever done. We had partnered together for 3 years I believe, and my very first ad with them, which was one of my most viral videos hit over 20.7 MILLION VIEWS in counting till this day! After that, I began just working with them more and more. My social media career just took off from there!
Fast forward, in college I was attending Mississippi State University to major in Fashion Design/Product Development. At this point, I had reached over 100K followers on Tiktok and was working on more collabs with PocketGems. I even started live streaming and gained an audience on Bigo Live. After a while, I decided to pause going to school to pursue content creation full-time, or what I thought was “full-time”, compared to actually being full-time now. However, what I didn’t realize at the time is just as easy as a brand can give you a contract, is just as easy that they can stop renewing it too. PocketGems was the only brand I was working with all that time, and I had to learn to teach myself that multiple streams of income is very important. PocketGems didn’t renew their contract with me this time, so I had to start searching for my next one. By the grace of God, I ended up stumbling upon other collaborations. During this time, I was doing a lot of content shooting for Happy Productions Agency, gained a contract with Americorps Go Fellowship Program, and a few others! They were great for a while, but later those contracts ended too. I even went through a period where I didn’t have any money to pay my rent at the apartment I had. I wasn’t going to school, but I still lived in the town my former college was in. I applied for many jobs, but no one would hire me. I was struggling to find ways to get out of my current lease, I even sold my car at the time just to have the money to get out of the apartment I was in, so I could move back home with my family.
After this period, I was finally able to move back home. I had a new job working remotely doing customer service work. It was definitely a much better situation. I was still doing content creation, however; I didn’t receive many collaborations during this time of my life, I was mostly working. In the midst of working, I kept expressing to friends and family how I would like to plan to save money and move to California to grow in my career, especially as a influencer. Then, a few months after, I was unexpectedly fired from my job, and I figured, well what better time to move to California then now? (I’m not working. I’m applying for low wage jobs that no one is hiring me for. I have no money. I have no car…Why not go?)
As a little girl I always had dreams of moving to a big city like LA or NY even, to pursue a greater calling, because the opportunities in Mississippi can often be limited. I always craved for adventure so this wasn’t out of the ordinary for me to want to do something like this. However, before making any major leap, I always believed in seeking God’s approval first! What a lot of people don’t know is before I moved to California, I prayed and fasted to make sure what I was doing is in align with God’s plan. As I prayed and fasted, God assured me I had His okay and that He was guiding me in every way of this. I knew God’s hand was all over this plan, and that He was ordering my steps for this move. Not to mention, I had a close friend of mine who prophesied over me and prayed with me right before my move, this was double confirmation!
Fast forward, I hit a lot of heavy bumps in the road after moving. I went through two previous jobs as a sales rep barely making any money, only surviving off of commission. Also, I experienced four months unemployed, and I missed my family back home a lot, but I had to go through the ups and downs to appreciate where I am right now. Thankfully, by the Grace of God, during my move out here, The Lord blessed me to meet my wonderful husband, so no matter how bad those trying times were, GOD didn’t let me go through it all alone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Haha I feel like I’m the wrong person to be asking this just because there’s so much of LA I’m still discovering lol!
If my best friend were visiting, I would definitely have to take them to Dave’s Hot Chicken firsthand once they come! Right away it would be our lunch on their first day, I LOVEEE Dave’s!!!!
I would take them drinking at the bar Tribute, on Cahuenga Blvd! I love the vibe of that place, I’ve only been once but it’s so nice and such a great social place to go to.
Also, I would hang out at ‘The Room’ on Cahuenga as well, it’s a nice vibe that reminds me a little bit of back home, the hip-hop & reggaeton music, really targeting a black audience. It’s nice to find a little spot like that when a lot of the clubs in LA are more techno or electropop based.
For a night out, I’d take us dancing at Catch One on Pico Blvd! That place is so exhilarating! I love the energy, the drinks, the music and it is definitely a true party if you go there! It’s so lively and fun!!!
I picture if we have a cold, cloudy day, like how we do sometimes here in LA, lol, I’d take them for an amazing hot pot place at Yintang Spicy Hot Pot in Monterey Park! I AM OBSESSED with spicy hot pot!! I love soup places, along with a nice ramen or pho place, probably introduce them to Melrose Ramen or Heng Heng Chicken Rice (Hollywood) too.
More than likely this best friend being from back home, I’d give them some of that southern feel we have back in Mississippi, and we’d go to Kickin’ Crab for some spicy, cajun seafood! (Although, people have been telling me Boiling Crab is better, I’m going to have to check it out for myself…)
This might not actually count as sight seeing, but for sight seeing, I love shopping!…I would take us to Rodeo Drive to stroll the outlets and view all the amazing designer stores I love! Also, maybe go to the Beverly Center or the Grove too.
For sure, I’d take us to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum as well! Then, maybe catch a taping of America’s Got Talent, or the Jennifer Hudson show, or just something live that is exciting.
For a chill day, I’d take us to Venice to enjoy the beach, the sun, and just the locals! We would visit some of the wonderful seafood restaurants near by, and grab nice drinks!
For our mornings, we’d eat Roscoe’s chicken and waffles too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a HUGE shoutout to my mother, Tammy! There isn’t anything that she’s ever made me feel like I couldn’t do or achieve. AND SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY!!!
Shoutout to my Dad, Edward! For always giving so much love, support and kindness to our family no matter what. He is truly the backbone of our household!
Shoutout to my grandparents, Addie and Tommy! They helped raise me as well, and their love and support goes beyond waves for me. I’m thankful for them always looking out for me.
Shoutout to my sister, Cambria! I love her so much and she is my best friend to the very end of time.
Shoutout to my sweet, adorable, husband, Alex! I love you with all my heart and all my being. You are my best friend, and I am honored that God chose you to be my person, to walk and enjoy this life with.
Shoutout to Tower Mobility, my management team with Rodrigo Salinas, and owners, Daniel Munoz and Andres Munoz for making me creative strategist, and for allowing me the space and opportunity to take on full responsibility of the company’s Marketing department, social media, and content creation fieldwork. Thank you for seeing great potential in me and trusting me with this position! A role like this in content creation is one I’ve passionately sought for a very long time.
Shoutout to my community back home in Mississippi! My friends and other family members, people who have granted me well wishes and success as they’ve witnessed me grow and flourish on social media as a creator. Your support never goes unnoticed.
Shoutout to my friend back home, Shantavia! I still think about how you prayed and prophesied over me right before I moved. Thank you always, Woman of God, for your obedience and honor to the Lord that has helped guide my path to here.
Shoutout to my wonderful fan base online, none of this would be possible without your love and support for my content! Thank you for watching me online and remaining loyal. Your support is never taken for granted!
Most Importantly, Shoutout to JESUS, NONE OF THIS would have even been at all possible without the true, undeniable, GRACE OF GOD!!!! It is HIS grace alone, I’ve made it this far. Period.
