We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Asamoah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
As a founder, I am constantly thinking about this. What is the end goal? Where do I want to be at the end of my career? These are loaded questions. I feel like BOLD Swim is just getting started and truly changing the landscape for inclusive and sustainable swimwear. The end goal is eventually to make BOLD Swim THE global brand for sustainable swimwear. We will accomplish this through building a community of designers, production facilities with a curated focus on sustainability, diversity, and inclusion of female-founded businesses. BOLD Swim is a network of confident women who can share in the creative process, be mentors for others, and act as a safe space for all. At the end of my career, I want to be passing the torch to my successor as CEO of BOLD Swim. I hope this is at a point where the celebration of ( previously mentioned) ideas comes to materialize. I want to be a consulting member on the board of BOLD Swim to ensure the vision continues long after I am gone. During this time I want to work on other projects such as investing in other businesses and people to help curate the landscape in which the next generation will inherit.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is that I am uniquely myself. I am proud of growing as a designer and honing and curating my brand to what is today. I’ve been open to learning and doing the hard work that is far from glorious. I am here for these wins. I do not have imposter syndrome because I learned and am still learning to grow the brand globally. The lesson I will keep taking with me is that you need a team. You would be foolish to think you can do this alone. BOLD Swim is growing slowly and stable. We do not want the “overnight success” we want the foundation. We will be a brand that will be here for a while. We want to take the time for you to get to know us and us you. We can’t please everyone but you will be sure to know us for our swimwear.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The landscape of Los Angeles has changed so much since 2020 and the height of the pandemic and many of my favorite places have closed. I would say my new hangout part of town is Studio City. Take a drive on Ventura to Laurel Tavern then park and walk. You can not go wrong from there. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been so many people along the way. I am always grateful for the continued support and recognition. This time I’d like to give a shout-out to DAVE. DAVE is a banking app that “Creating financial opportunity that advances America’s collective potential.” The finance version of David and Goliath. A bank for 99% of America, not the 1%. You can sign up with them at dave.com. DAVE gifted unknown to me at the time 34 billboards around Los Angeles. As a growing brand, this is huge! Their support not only validated our presence in L.A but boosted sales just in time for the season. I am always grateful for my teams in CA, OH, and Brazil, that keep the ship going. They say being an entrepreneur is hard, that is true, but doesn’t have to be if you have the support of your team.
