We had the good fortune of connecting with Kay Dalton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kay, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Fresh Wata started as a small boutique company and has grown to a global event agency with a belief that it’s a group effort and that no one person can pull off that magical experience. It’s a total team effort to make a great event. There are so many folks involved in a great event from our designers, producers, partners, fabricators, warehouse managers, etc and it takes a great team to make any event successful.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I want the world to know that Fresh Wata is creative!!! We are a women owned and NGLCC certified company. We are talented artist, craftsmen, technologist and producers meaningfully building human connection through exceptional experiences. We believe in disrupting the way the world experiences brands. We believe that we can go as far as the mind takes us. This belief is why we don’t believe in limits. We are design and pop-culture, fanatics, emerging technology geeks and punk rock at heart.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
California has so much beauty, but this week long trip would most definitely start & end in Manhattan Beach. The beach, fresh air and ocean waves is my passion — hence our company name -Fresh Wata! A morning run, cycling, yoga or soaking up the rays is a morning ritual. So many delicious restaurants in Manhattan Beach like Love and Salt, Fishing with Dynamite and a long time favorite is Hennessy’s Tavern for a cold brew. We would then make our way up the coast to Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Louis Obispo, Cambria, Carmel, San Francisco, Napa, Yosemite, and Tahoe. From amazing waterfalls, coastal views, castles, talented local artist, farmers, wineries and restaurants — there is no shortage of beauty and things to do!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have so many Shoutouts, but I will start with a shoutout to my sister, Tricia Costello, CEO of Fresh Wata who has taken Fresh wata to a new level. Another shoutout is Sara Dalton who joined Fresh Wata three years ago and although she grew up in the events world she has a won praises and recognition from peers and partners alike.
