We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Harms and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TIFFANY, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
What habits help me succeed?

My success as a notary comes from my strong work ethic, consistency, and commitment to always marketing my services. Being a notary means that not everyone needs me every day, so staying visible and building relationships is key.

Every signing I complete is more than just paperwork—it’s a significant life event for my clients. Whether someone is buying their first home, selling their starter home for their dream home, pulling from their 401K to invest in a new chapter, or even handling financial matters for a loved one in a difficult time, I understand the weight of each moment.

For nearly 14 years, my compassion, patience, and genuine love for what I do have kept me going. I approach every signing with 100% dedication, knowing that my role is to provide a seamless, stress-free experience during these major milestones.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a mobile notary and loan signing agent, proudly serving my community since 2011. As a Latina business owner for 14 years, I take great pride in the journey that has brought me here. Growing up in a family of business owners, I witnessed firsthand the dedication, hard work, and passion it takes to succeed. That foundation shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today.

But the road hasn’t been easy. Before becoming a notary, I spent 10 years in the mortgage industry as a loan processor and funder for my family’s lending company. When I decided to step out on my own, I knew I had to go out and build my business from the ground up—networking, marketing, and putting myself out there. The overwhelming support I received from my clients and community fueled my drive, and I wouldn’t be here today without them.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that if you don’t truly love what you do, you won’t last. Being a business owner requires dedication, sacrifice, and an unstoppable work ethic. But when you love what you do, every challenge becomes an opportunity.

This year, I’m pushing myself to new heights, with a goal of reaching 500 signings! I’m also passionate about helping and supporting fellow notaries, especially those who, like me, are striving to turn their goals into reality. As a Colombian-Mexican woman, I want to inspire others to believe that with heart and hustle, anything is possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: Disneyland Magic 🏰✨
We’re kicking things off at Disneyland! From Space Mountain to Dole Whip, we’re soaking in all the nostalgia and thrills. And of course, we’ll park-hop to California Adventure for Radiator Springs Racers and a cocktail at Lamplight Lounge.

Day 2: Downtown LA & Mexican Food Feast 🌆🌮
A full day in Downtown LA, starting with:
✔️ Strolling through Olvera Street for some history and shopping.
✔️ Checking out The Broad for incredible modern art.
✔️ Ending the night with amazing Mexican food—maybe Guelaguetza for Oaxacan mole or tacos from a street vendor.

Day 3: Beach Day & Tacos 🌊🌮
California means beach time! We’ll hit:
🏖️ Huntington Beach or Laguna Beach to soak up the sun.
🌮 Sancho’s Tacos for the best tacos by the waves.
🎶 Maybe catch some live music at a beachside bar.

Day 4: Sports & LA Vibes ⚾🔥
If it’s spring or summer, we’re 1000% going to a Dodgers game. Nothing beats the energy of Dodger Stadium, a classic Dodger Dog, and the roar of the crowd!

Day 5: Brewery & Chill 🍻
For a laid-back day, we’ll hang at Angel City Brewery—good drinks, great vibes, and maybe a food truck nearby. Just relaxing and catching up in the heart of LA’s Arts District.

Day 6: Exploring Hollywood & Rooftop Views 🎬🍸
✔️ Walk down Hollywood Blvd to see the Walk of Fame.
✔️ Take a scenic drive up to the Griffith Observatory for epic views.
✔️ End the night at a rooftop bar like Perch or EP & LP for drinks with a view.

Day 7: Malibu & Farewell Brunch 🌅🥂
To wrap up the trip, we’ll take a coastal drive to Malibu for a final beachside brunch—maybe at Malibu Farm—before sending them off with amazing LA memories!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Who deserves a shoutout?

Without a doubt, my late Grandma Ede Madiedo and my sister Stephanie. When I felt like giving up—when this journey seemed harder than I ever imagined—they both pushed me to keep going. Their encouragement and unwavering belief in me gave me the strength to keep moving forward.

For that, I am forever grateful. Because of them, I didn’t quit, and now, 2024 has been my best year yet—and I know it’s only the beginning!
