We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Renee’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I began my own business once I realized I was working hard, stressing, making someone’s else’s dream my life, while watching my dream move further away from being realized. For this reason, I had to take that leap into entrepreneurship and it was the absolute best gift to myself! I needed to take a chance on myself, and see what I was capable of, to stretch and continuously grow beyond my perceived borders. As a result, I get to create an experience that addresses a specific need for a specific community in a way only I can. I get the freedom of becoming, evolving, according to my own rhythm and vision, inspiring others to do the same. I believe our dreams, our gifts, serve as our compass pointing to what ignites our souls, what contributions we came to this earth to make.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created Luv Blue Healing in 2021, as a response to all the eruption of fear, disease, and injustice happening in the world, within myself, and within the people around me. For nine years prior, I owed and operated a hair salon, and during the pandemic, despite the good time I would have with my clients, I noticed they felt different, many were erupting, evolving, and still wearing a smile, trying to be what they thought they needed. My space was always one that allowed people to really relax and let go of the the craziness in the world, but I wanted to create a space of true peace, healing, and transformation. I loved my work as a stylist but knew it was time for me to embrace and honor my healing gifts by offering something that worked from the inside out, instead of outside in.
I believe life is a game of call and response, at least it has been that way for me. Ten years ago, I got the call, in the form of a strong urge to move to California from Philadelphia and without knowing a soul here I moved. After only a year and a half in California, the call came again, this time it was more like a breakdown, to own my own salon, I did just that without any savings or guarantees. And now, nine years later, the call comes to breakdown and build anew, and again I respond.
Being in business for yourself stretches you in ways you can never imagine. It is a journey that stretches your mind, intuition, faith, and intelligence constantly. You have to be willing to jump sight unseen, you have to be willing to learn, to not know, to trust yourself, and allow yourself to evolve. Growth doesn’t usually feel easy because we are moving beyond our comfort zones but, it is so exciting. And I believe all we experience as we grow helps to make the next growth phase easier than the last.
Often, I hear people speak of needing a guarantee, needing to feel financially secure, and this being what keeps them from opening their own business. Honestly, looking back on all the jobs I had, places I worked, and guarantees they offered, I realized nothing was ever a guarantee. At anytime an employer could decide to cut payroll costs, therefore cutting your hours, or perhaps you get laid off, or better yet fired. A boss could decide their friend is better suited for your position, and despite HR policies you start to feel the push when they call you into the office one too many time nitpicking your performance that was just fine before. I could go on, but the point is whether you work for someone else or yourself, nothing is a guarantee. You just have to decide what best suites you and know your source for stability and abundance does not come from anyone or anything outside of you.
When I look back at my life, I can clearly see how each phase was preparing me for the next. Of course, that was not obvious to me in many moments of depression and absolute fear that past trauma brought to my doorstep. I had spent years burying my pain and even more excavating it. I had friends that were into energy work blessing me along my way. Really, every person in my life, no matter what role they played, served as healers, awakening me to my truth. As I began to learn and love myself, my entire world began to transform. I even lost forty pounds. I feIt like I stumbled upon the hidden world of treasures available to everyone, if they choose. Luv Blue Healing is the treasure, the healing space, where you come to shed your old skin, and embrace more of the beauty that is you. I get to play in the quantum field everyday, combining energy medicine with customized spiritual hygiene tools to support people on their healing journey. The saying has been true for me, “heal yourself, heal your world,” and I am loving every moment.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Once in Cali you hike! Seriously, it is something I never considered in Philly. -I love hiking in Griffith Park, and the Malibu Mountains! It is so scenic, and peaceful. Some may say these trails are fairy easy going, I say just focus on how perky your booty will be, and yes it is so beautiful!
-I love food and I am vegan so I would go on food tour, going to certain spots in certain neighborhoods like:
-Masa in Echo Park- Vegan Chicago style pizza…THE BEST; Blu Jam Cafe on Melrose-amazing brunch; Pura Vita & Crossroads in West Hollywood-everything is good; The Patty Daddy in NoHo-THE BEST Jamaican patties in LA; Tacos…we would just make the rounds.
-Monday Night Jazz Eclectic- At the Sofitel…bomb musicians and singers!
-The Juice Joint- The Hollywood spot for the BEST unknown, known artist in LA
-77 Lounge- Another Great spot to catch some AMAZING TALENT in Culver City
-Star gazing at the Observatory
-The Realization Gardens
-Lemeirt Park on a Sunday-my first love in LA with all the vibrant shops, people, music, I believe the drum circle in on Sundays
-And we’d have to go to Venice Beach to take in all that is!
