We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Villalobos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say that the most important factor for me, would be determination. When you have a passion for something and you know in your heart “this is what I am meant to do” then you have to be determined to make it happen.

It can be difficult starting out, especially in the entertainment industry. Everyone in LA is a creative and there’s that much more competition, but if you can stay true to yourself, your passion, your drive and not let others bring you down, you can do anything. It also helps a lot to have a good support system and others who believe in what you’re trying to do. When I originally started AllThistV, I was doing it solo and it’s a lot on one persons plate, but I have always been determined to make things happen.

When AllThistV starting working on other projects, I knew I needed to bring on someone else who had as much passion and drive as myself, so I brought on Nina Yasick to join AllThisTV. We now have two people with as much determination as Dr. Grant to outrun the T-Rex in Jurassic park, running the business.

So stay determined, hold onto your passion and drive and you’ll get to where you want to be.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
AllThisTV really focuses on having LGBTQ main characters. Growing up, I didn’t see many on TV or in Film, so I always felt like I didn’t see myself up there, like I wasn’t being represented. Anytime there was an LGBTQ character on TV, it automatically became my favorite show, because I was feeling seen.
As I got older, they did start to incorporate them more on screen, but they weren’t the main characters and they didn’t usually have a lot of backstory, which was disappointing.

As I got more into acting and started auditioning more frequently, I quickly realized how very little of the projects had LGBTQ characters. In the five years I was in LA before starting AllThisTV, I only ever got one audition for a lead character who was a lesbian. It was the most excited I had ever been for an audition. It was also the most relaxed I felt at an audition. For awhile I thought about how that audition made me feel, and then thought about how it might’ve made others feel. Were they as excited for the character? did they feel seen with this character? I’ll never forgot that.

I started AllthisTV to give LGBTQ characters the spotlight, to give them backstories that had meaning and true character development, to make them badass. It wasn’t easy at first, I got turned down a lot and most people I had the opportunity to pitch to, just didn’t see or understand the vision. I tried my hardest to not listen to those people, if they couldn’t understand what I was trying to do, then I didn’t want to work with them anyways. What gave me hope though, was the handful of people who were just as excited to see everything, as I was to make it happen.

Nowadays we do see more LGBTQ characters on the screen and I never get tired of seeing it, I love that we’re finally getting more recognition and that people at home can now truly feel seen and I feel honored that I can help and contribute to that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh gosh, I don’t know if asking me about the best places to visit in LA is the best idea haha. I’m very much a homebody, but I do enjoy hikes, nature and dogs. I’ll do any hike that’s got a great view and LA does have plenty of them. Rosies dog beach in Long Beach is a great place to bring your dog too. The Santa Monica pier is always fun, Venice as well, if you’re visiting LA you have to see those. Amusement parks! Universal is always a good one to go to. I have always liked their studio back lot tour. Malibu is beautiful. if you go to Malibu, you have to go to taverna Tonys. One of the best places I’ve been to here for food. their house dip is absolutely amazing. Griffith park is also a go to and the Observatory.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shout out to Nina Yasick, She’s as creative and passionate about film and Television as myself. She’s a fantastic writer, producer, actress and overall storyteller. I believe we’ll do big things with her along for the ride.

I wanted to thank Jermaine Carter for his support from the very beginning
