We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffeny Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffeny, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks is so important as a creative and artistic person. Without taking risks, you won’t get to experience amazing opportunities that are out there. It can be challenging and difficult because you have no idea what details lies ahead, or what’s on the other side of the door, but if you don’t take risks you won’t find out. It’s better to try than to not try at all. Taking a leap of faith and just going for it is how I got to experience so many amazing performance opportunities, meet and connect with so many great people, and share my art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started playing the piano and taking lessons when I was 10 years old and fell in love with playing music. Especially classical. I wrote a lot of poetry in elementary school and started writing songs when I was around the age of 13. I remember loving it, the feeling of expressing myself through words, and rhyming. How the words sounded, and flowed together. It was exciting to me. Throughout high school and college, I continued playing the piano, composing music, and writing songs. I became very passionate about it, and it stuck with me. I was always very artsy. Since then, I wrote and recorded an EP titled My Heart, as well as other singles such as Cool Warm Breeze, Down to the Wire, and This Road. I composed all of the music and wrote all of the lyrics. The journey has not been easy but it has been so fulfilling and rewarding, and I wouldn’t change a thing because it has taught me perseverance and strength. I have had so many amazing moments of recording, performances, rehearsals, and meeting amazing musicians. It’s been very exciting so far. On my music journey, I also learned how to do every aspect of being an Artist like marketing, promoting, the process of putting on a show, what goes into planning and curating, styling, hair, wardrobe, make up, what goes into the production and the recording side of things. I have done everything on my own. I’m so grateful for Brent Michael DiRoma, Dave Rublin, and Rez Lamar for doing the production on my music. They are phenomenal! The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that God’s timing is everything. What sets me apart as an Artist is my heart. I really do love people and I’m very empathetic, and I’m not chasing numbers or money. I write music because I love it and I genuinely want to connect with others through my songs. Whether it’s healing or making someone groove and vibe out. Music is so powerful that it can change someone’s mood and atmosphere in a couple of seconds. I hope to continue to inspire, encourage, and spread love through my art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to an awesome restaurant tour since I’m a huge foodie! Sushi, Burgers, Italian, Mexican, Thai. Then ice cream, and take them to check out a fun bar for drinks. Then of coarse laying on the beach and listening to some beats with some ice cold beverages. Santa Monica is special beach to me so probably there. Movies and sleeping in between the week, and definitely a full day dedicated to just sleep & TV haha!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my sisters and brother who always supported me, my online community who always encouraged me and appreciated my music, and my faith in God for keeping me strong, patient, and persistent.
