We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Cozine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in raised in West Los Angeles (Culver City). Growing up in LA, you’re exposed to different cultures and challenges that the city has to offer; which helped to expand my mind at a young age. My parents were very spiritual people that always encouraged me to try something once, and to trust my gut. Graffiti, Streetwear, Athletics and the Arts were the most influential on my upbringing, and my company and brands pay homage to each of those aspects.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company, The Cozy Agency LLC is a digital services agency with two subsidiaries under it. One of them being CozyWave, a brand that provides hair care tips and “how to” for ethnic hair. The other brand is Nyn To Fyv which is the founding brand and overall message of The Cozy Agency LLC.

The Nyn To Fyv Company provides clothing & design content that promotes Self Empowerment and Personal Development. Each design has a specific message.
Nyn To Fyv is a derivative of your daily 9 to 5 grind. The intent and purpose of the company is to uplift, empower and improve our daily lives. We accept and embrace the fact that we’re different and that we do things differently than the norm. We are more than just a job; we are fully capable and powerful beings; we can control our thoughts and our realities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When friends visit I tend to take them to Ochas, a Thai restaurant that has some of the best and most authentic food. They have a location off of Sunset, and normally the next move is to drive down sunset towards the westside of LA. It’s a great way to pass popular spots/places in LA, as well as show the different neighborhoods. I tend to keep most of my activities by the water, so 3rd Street Promenade, Main St., or the Marina are some of my go-to places. The next would be a drive up and down PCH. There’s different trails and views along the coast and it’s a lifeline into other areas that are worth a visit, Palisades, Malibu, etc. The great thing about LA is that you can be a native of the city and still discover and learn something new about it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents made sure to develop perspectives and habits in me at a young age, that would prepare me to adapt with the uncertainty of life. It is their teachings, beliefs and support that have gotten me through the darkest times. My father passed away when I was 23, and my mother passed away when I was 26. It was the loss of both my parents, that put me in a life or death situation for having the motivation to go on with life. Their deaths forced me to look inward and find my true happiness and passions. I would not be where I’m at today and there would be no The Cozy Agency LLC, Nyn To Fyv, or CozyWave without them and their spirits.
