Meet Tina Decker | Vintage Inspired Boutique Shop

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Decker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tina, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Always trying to think outside the box. There is so much compitition out there you really need to look at ways of standing out from others. That means being open to all possibilities and if it doesn’t work then you move on to the next.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There are a multitude of things that set us apart. First off, we are a collective. This means we have a group of small, independent, woman owned business’ within our small women owned business. When you shop with us you are supporting many local, small business’. We not only offer a wide variety of unique and sought after items, we also provide an opportunity for our community to come together to learn fun and interesting skills. We have offered classes on calligraphy, knitting, macrame, watercolor, furniture painting, mosaics and the list goes on. All the workshops take place in our shop after regular business hours.
We also host a bi-yearly open market for fellow crafters, junkers and makers. It’s a one day event that takes place around the perimeter of our shop and it gives vendors an opportunity to get their creations out and visible. We have been able to help launch many growing small business’.
The thing I’m supper excited about is our Fall France Retreat. This is where we take a group of 10 women on an all inclusive trip to the south of France that has been specially curated. Our second trip is Fall of 2026 and we couldn’t be more excited!
This has most definitely not been an easy journey. I attribute a lot of our success to the fact that we are three partners, each with our own expertise. This allows us flexibility and work/life balance. We really work well together and we share a common goal. This is not always easy but we alway remain committed to the success of Barn & Charm. That means being open minded, flexible and willing to compromise.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my community, I would definately take them to my shop for a little retail therapy. First we would head next door to Honu, our neighbor, for a fabulous latte. After multipal trips around Barn & Charm, we would head to Egg Plantation for lunch. They are just two doors down from us. There is live music on the patio and a huge menu of items to choose from. The service is alway friendly and there is a great atmosphere. Next we would head down Main Street to visit a few of our fellow retailers. Everyone has something a little differnet. For the afternoon we would walk further down to Hart Park which has hiking trails, a barn yard and a museum. The Santa Clarita Historical Society is also on the same grounds. There is so much to explore and there are many events that take place in the park as well. We could then head to Puchella winery to do a flight tasting and then savor a glass of our favorite. For dinner, we would dine at The Junction for a lovely meal. Hopefully we can catch a play across the street after at The Main or The Canyon Theatre Guild. One last stop! The Santa Clarita Art Gallery to see the latest exhibit. Wow! Thats a full day and it’s only the first one!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to say our costumers. They encourage, inspire and motivate us every day. I dont think a single day goes by that someone doesn’t comment that Barn & Charm is their happy place. We know there is a certain energy here because we feel it too. This is our happy place!
