We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tina, what role has risk played in your life or career?

You learn a lot rather quickly by taking risks. By pushing through fear. By going through those doors and trying your best no matter what, and getting used to that uncomfortable feeling of being in the unknown. That is where you learn the most and do your best work and then move on. You do it with your life, your art and your business whatever. It isn’t for everyone, but each time you push through your fear you continue to grow and build your strength no matter what you’re doing or giving.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My life and career has been driven by curiosity and love. If I’m interested and passionate I can be in any space. I was in the professional ballet performing arts space, then the animation feature film artist space, then the computer animation pioneer space, and then the community and events non-profit space. Passion and gratitude buys a lot and helps drive me through the challenges no matter what space I’m in at the time. If I’m lucky I won’t even notice the challenges because they are just part of the problem solving process that day. I’ve been grateful to say that I have had 4 successful careers, and when I lock in on something that I can do everyday that brings value, joy or success to others, then I have succeeded.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a 3rd generation Southern Californian. I am a ‘Valley Girl’ and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I love California and Los Angeles. I’ve lived in other cities and without hesitation, LA is like no other city. I would take guests on a drive through the canyons that give birth to the amazing views of our coastline. I might stop by the Inn of the Seventh Ray and talk about the amazing music era that went on in Topanga and Laurel Canyons. I might wonder up at night to one of the many great restaurants that are high in the hills giving a view of the beautiful carpet of lights known as LA at night and I might look on the calendar for an art opening or art fair to mingle with the creative crowd and see amazing art and end with a horseback right at night through the Hollywood Hills.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Now that I’m older I realize it has been everyone and everything that I’m grateful for having helped to shape my life and my story. Thank you!! Forever grateful.
