We had the good fortune of connecting with Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roslynn, how do you think about risk?
Risks are an everyday thing that I’ve had to encounter throughout my career. I risked stability when I chose to pursue a career in music, start my own company, every time I produce an event, etc. Risks have been beneficial because they have created unforeseen opportunities, helped develop new skills, were great learning lessons & helped develop resilience when things didn’t go as planned and building blocks when they did go right. The risks I took helped create a business in helping others, have brought opportunities to travel the world and most importantly, inspire those younger than me to pursue unconventional careers in their own passions.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ROS. is a grassroots marketing agency that specializes in creating unique strategic campaigns for artists, brands & companies that directly impact the desired audience. ROS. is an acronym that stands for “Run Of Site” and “Run Of Show.” “Run Of Site” is an advertiser term by media platforms that places an ad for brands throughout their site, where they appear anywhere and everywhere to be viewed by the desired consumer, similar to a ROS. campaign. “Run Of Show” is an item-by-item sequence of events that will happen within a show or event. The detailed outline shows what each department should be doing at what time that keeps all productions in tact. With the ROS. team, you’ll get to work side by side with event / content producers & marketing strategists that have over 20 years of professional music/entertainment relationships and experience. The team doesn’t work on anything and anyone, but for projects they truly believe in.
The ROS. marketing team has over 20+ years of strategic, experiential, event & content marketing working with the top brands, artists & influencers in the world. They have produced over 500 offline events & editorial programs with artists like Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Jay-Z and brands like the NBA, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, AT&T, Disney & Budweiser. They have also helped small businesses, non-profit organizations & media companies grow thru non traditional, yet strategic marketing techniques.
The biggest challenge we have had to overcome were limiting beliefs, we overcame that by making the impossible – possible whether it be a #1 record on radio to a sold-out arena to a #1 website in the world. The biggest lesson we have learned is to keep our vibrations high and positive, surrounded by a good group of positive people in order to manifest goals and dreams faster.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here’s where we would go in Los Angeles for the week:
Hiking Runyon Canyon, it’s a great work out but worth it at the end to see the amazing view which includes the Hollywood sign.
Blu Jam Cafe for the best crunchy french toast you’ve ever had.
Take a ride and coast PCH to see the amazing beaches – Venice is always a unique experience – following the coast to Santa Monica for a great seafood lunch on the pier with all it’s fun games and rides.
Yamashiro’s in Hollywood with executive Chef Vallerie. The food is amazing and the view is stunning.
The Highlight Room with DJ Nick Ferrer spinning the best in Hip Hop & R&B, the rooftop venue on top of the Dream Hollywood Hotel where you’ll catch anyone from Drake to Lebron James having a good time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out to the Filipino community throughout the world – whether it is on stage at a concert, on the frontlines as a hospitality or healthcare worker or college student. Everyday I’m inspired by the 120M+ people throughout the world who find new ways of bringing smiles to people’s faces through their hard work, food, jokes, great music and events. There is little credit given to the contributions of this community in every industry, and it has helped shaped my current mission, vision and purpose in helping our talent, content & events get recognized in the mainstream. Excited for the future to come that stands on the historic work of those in the past.
