We had the good fortune of connecting with Tinsley Tarot and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tinsley, how do you think about risk?
Risk is what makes us bold and defines who we are. For me taking risks has always been easy, but dealing with the aftermath is the tricky part. I have lived a nomadic life: Houston, Chicago, Boston, and Long Beach being some of the places I have called home. But what fun is life if not lived on the edge? I definitely use risk more constructively now as I have gotten older.

To make passion your career you must stay resilient and ready to change course when needed, ever-adapting, re-prioritizing, learning, and growing. Starting a business is inherently risky and most entrepreneurs put all of their time and resources on the line for a chance to live a better life. It’s a gamble that offers a glimpse at the ultimate prize, autonomy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in tarot card reading, spiritual coaching, and reiki energy healing services. I have an MFA and background in oil painting and it took a series of dead-ends for me to let go of my artist identity to become a healer.

The first time that I received Reiki was so profound it caused me to have a complete paradigm shift. I was in a very dark place at that time after a decade of self-destruction. The experience gave me hope and proof that there was magic in this world that we could not see. It helped me find my own spiritual practice and believe in something bigger than myself. Soon after that I felt compelled to help others find their light and be their guide.

No part of my journey has been easy. I don’t know if it will ever be but I believe the human experience has a lot to do with choosing how to respond instead of reacting. As a person who has been to hell and back, I feel as though I can deeply connect with those processing and choosing to heal from their trauma. Tarot reading and Reiki energy healing can do wonders in addressing problems that talk therapy can take years to uncover. The best part is that all of my services can be done online over zoom and I work with clients all over the US, Canada, and Europe.

What sets me apart as a tarot card reader is that I give advice on how to move forward after the reading. I provide tools that can be put into action immediately to make the next steps easier. This can look like shifting a closed perspective, creating new lifestyle habits, or rewriting limiting belief systems. It all comes back to helping each person step into their power in their own way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, we would spend a day walking through the botanical gardens of the Huntington Library. Then make dinner reservations and eat Wagyu beef and fried rice at Yazawa in Beverly Hills.

Additional places to visit in LA would be LACMA and to check out any boutique pop-up events like Unique Markets. Once rested we would head to the coast and trek up my favorite trail in Rancho Palos Verdes with my dog.

A must-see would be to take a trip to Joshua tree, hike in the national park and get a sound bath in Integratron.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to Mo Nelson, my business mentor. She has been a fantastic co-pilot throughout my e-commerce journey. I began as a clothing designer but quickly shifted into offering services where I could offer the most value to my clients. Mo has been with me from the beginning and helped me build my business from the ground up. She inspired me to find solutions to problems before I had even considered them.

Mo has helped me become tenacious and learn from what felt like failure. I had not been living in California long before starting my business so working with her made me feel as though I wasn’t completely on my own. Although I am still a solopreneur, she has always been there to guide the way when I feel lost.

If you would like help with your online business I highly recommend working with Mo at ecomflight.com.
