We had the good fortune of connecting with Malik Manani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Malik, how do you think about risk?
Prior to taking a risk, I typically try to imagine the worst possible outcome….and if the worst possible outcome is something that I could live with, it then becomes a lot easier to take that risk. And the reality is, that worst possible outcome probably isn’t gonna happen anyway. I’ve taken far too many risks to name, but I will say that without a doubt, taking risks has literally changed the trajectory of my life…SUPER thankful for every single risk that I’ve taken
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a mobile massage therapist. After over 15 years in business, I still love it as much today as I did when I began. Being a massage therapist truly aligns with who I am as a person. I am passionate not only about body and energy work, but about holistic healing in general…I talk the talk, and walk the walk. If money didn’t exist, I’d be doing this for free. This level of passion for what I do, is what has lead to my success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a vegan, and a “foodie”, so we would definitely hit up some of my favorite vegan restaurants: Cafe Gratitude, Sage Vegan Bistro, Julie Goes Green, Gracias Madre, and Crossroads Kitchen, to name a few. We would absolutely hit up a different beach every day, and if the stars were aligned, there’d be Kiss-N-Grind day-party going on over the weekend.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my sister, Mama Sol, who also happens to be one of the dopest MC’s on the planet. She walked away from a successful career years ago in order to pursue her dreams, and encouraged me to do the same.
