We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony “Super” Chang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is a requirement for Success. What I mean is, if you don’t take risks in life, you will not go far. It is because I took risks that I failed and learned from my failures to become better and do better. Before I met my now Wife, I took risks by expressing my interest in the girls I liked. Although I got rejected, I did not stop. I kept going and BAM I met my now Wife and we have a wonderful Daughter. In business, I took risks and I lost money, but, I also received more money. I attracted people who took advantage of me and people who really helped me take myself and my business to the next level. If you don’t risk it, you will not get far in life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I got to where I am today, by deciding what I truly wanted in life and that is Freedom. I started my first business, Super Jewelry Co., two years ago and it was anything but easy. It was HARD! I literally had to put to death my old ways of being an Employee and my old beliefs about myself. I overcame my challenges with the help of my Wife who pushed me and believed in me to be better when I didn’t believe in myself. Also, looking inward and changing my beliefs about who I was and who I really am. The Lessons I learned along the way: 1. You can’t be the Best and go the Highest by Yourself. 2. If You want to keep growing, You must change Your beliefs about Yourself. 3. Small Businesses can make a BIG impact in the hearts and minds of the people. 4. Keep Going. Keep Going. Keep Going. 5. Your Business is a reflection of Yourself. 6. Be Open, Be Humble. I want You to know…there is only today. Today is the day to start building what You truly want for Yourself. In this world, everyone is trying to fit in and be somebody they are not. But, Be You. Always
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I would just explore with them lol. I would just ask them what they want to do or eat and Yelp it hahaha I am such a Home Body, but, when this whole COVID is done, it’s just time to go out and explore.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out and acknowledge: My Wife, Cindy. My Sister, Jenny. My Mom. My Dad. My Friends: Justin Wu, Kevin Vu, Megan Vu.
