We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracey Pence and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracey, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Thru my business I try to help the community by giving back as much as I can. For instance, every property I sell, no matter how larger or small, I donate to different environmental organizations. Preserving and improving the environment has always been very important to me. As a child my parents would teach me about the importance of taking care of our planet and doing what we can to leave it better than how we found it. I’ve tried to instill that ideology throughout my life and my business is the perfect vehicle for me to raise awareness and contribute what I can. Some of the organizations I give to are The Nature Conservancy, The National Wildlife Federation, Sierra Club, The World Wildlife Fund, National Resource Defense Council, Defenders of Wildlife, National Parks Foundation and the California State Parks Foundation to name a little more than a few. Donating to these organizations not only helps the community here, but our world as a whole.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been a resident of Los Angeles for over 20 years and a Realtor since 2004. Obviously in Real Estate there are ups and downs. One of the reasons my business has survived is due to my ability to help my clients understand and feel confident during all market fluctuations. I pride myself on the trust and confidence my clients have in me and the relationships I have curated over the years with other agents. These two things are key in helping my clients reach their goals. Prior to becoming a Realtor, I held positions in finance, sales, media, politics and entertainment. These experiences helped sharpen my ability to adapt and negotiate in fast paced, high pressure situations. Buying and selling real estate can be overwhelming. Luckily, I am able to pull from my experience, expertise and resources to give clients a competitive edge in this ever changing market. Dedication, honesty and loyalty are my top priority.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles has so much to offer. There’s great food, museums, and world famous amusement parks but with the nearly perfect weather I would take my guest to go do what I love most, see the outdoor sights! I hike Runyon Canyon daily with my Jack Russell Stanley and I feel like that gives you the best view of what LA has to offer. Watching the sunset on the ocean and seeing the city lights come on as you are hiking down is the best! In the winter months you can see Catalina and snow capped mountains. Proof that you could actually surf and ski in the same day! You’ll see the hawks flying over head, lights at Dodger stadium when there is a home game and hear the owls calling to each other in the evening. Another favorite place of mine is Malibu. I would take them to Point Dume. When you hike the easy trail there you are almost guaranteed to see dolphins, seals and whales. While in Malibu I would take them to eat like a local at either Malibu Seafood, The Sunset Restaurant or Neptune’s Net. Other beautiful trails in that area are at Malibu Creek State park or Solstice Canyon. If it is in season I would also combine the outdoors with a concert and take them to the Hollywood Bowl.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to first give a shoutout to my amazing clients! Their trust and the referrals mean the world to me. Also, I would like to recognize my fantastic office at Keller Williams Larchmont, my team of collogues and staff help support my business daily. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge my supportive family. I especially want to thank my husband Eddie and son Colton who are my heart and the reason I keep striving to grow.
