We had the good fortune of connecting with Travon Naim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travon Naim, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“All good things.” To me, hearing/saying this out aloud or mentally can either affirm positive things that are happening, or combat any negativity that may be surfacing. It is the understanding that although I do not have full control over every situation, I do have control over how I choose to react. So I choose to remind myself of “All good things” to keep a positive outlook on all that is and all that can be.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my unwavering obsession with creating in as many avenues as I possibly can. There is no one word that really summarizes me or my capabilities when it comes to art, and I am very proud of that. Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I decided to use all of my focus towards developing one skill. Sure, I’m convinced that I’d excel a lot faster at that one thing, but my journey would probably be way less dynamic and unique. All of the skills and people I’ve met through exploration in several disciplines has allowed me to curate a phenomenal community of artist and art enthusiasts that I plan to do build a legacy with. Though I must admit, the journey here has not been the easiest of times, but humility and constant self-work always reminds me that nothing worth having is easy to come by. There is an unbeknownst amount of time, dedication and soul put into all great things; and I am willing to continue this journey with the same gratitude for it as the greats before me once did. I’ve learned that leading with pride and self-assurance is the only way to conquer those voices of fear, and that there is no-one responsible for my success or failure but myself. My choices are mine, and the ability to make choices comes with responsibilities. Amongst those responsibilities, at the top of the list, includes taking accountability for my physical, spiritual and mental health. What I want the world to know most about my brand and story is that I am simply acting on faith and inspiration. I don’t know what’s next or what the outcome of it all will be, but what I do know is that I have a vision in my mind that will leave me restless until I achieve it. Knowing that the process of achieving these goals, and/or the outcome of achieve these goals both serve as inspiration for others to continue to move humanity forward is what keeps me going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Maybe start with something hands on and creative like a pottery class or paint-and-sip picnic. Follow up with a bit of an adrenaline rush like an amusement park. Add in a little karaoke with great drinks and greater vibes. A day of shopping and restaurant hopping (tacos and a frozen treat of choice from Rita’s Italian Ice are a must)! Then end the week off with some nature and self-healing practices like journaling and meditating on the beach with healing instruments like sound-bowls and crystals.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Where do I start?! First off, I’d like to shoutout my creator! Theres many theories about where life itself origins, where we come from and why we are all here. I choose to believe that I am a creation from a creator that is to be undefined but recognized and appreciated. Furthermore, shoutout my parents for the tools that they did and didn’t provide me with, because both aspects make up who and what I have become today. Shoutout to my mentors, family and friends who have poured into me over the years in so many ways I can’t even think to put into words. I am a product of the community of people that have embraced and encouraged me to shine out loud and use my gifts to uplift myself and inspire others in the process. And of course, shoutout to ‘Shoutout’ for highlighting me! Cheers to us all.
