Meet Trevor Rain | Rapper / Recording artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Rain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trevor, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from San Diego, California . I grew up in a small town just 40 minutes outside the city called Ramona. The way I grew up was good but bad at times too with a dysfunctional and toxic family that took a huge toll on my mental health at a young age. I realized around the age of 18 the things my parents did wrong in raising me and that I when I have kids or my own what I would do differently and raise them properly. I was never taught to do anything with my life it was just “you’ll figure it out” and so I was lost and had no guidance and so it took a lot of self journey but eventually found what I wanted to do with my life and all my experiences of analyzing and paying attention to other people that it shaped me into who I am today.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing that sets me apart is my versatility and my voice . A lot of people say my voice is unique and don’t have too many people that sound like me. I also do singing and rapping and have crossed over genres a couple times and will continue to do so as I progress. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come so far and how much I’ve learned in just a 3 year span of making music. It has not been easy and there’s been many times where I almost felt like giving up but then I remind myself that music is the only thing that makes me happy. Even when I couldn’t find a studio to go to or people kept trying to get me to quit , I still didn’t give up and prevailed through all of the hard times I’ve encountered so far. I’ve learned to treat others with respect and how you want to be treated , I’ve learned that your visions don’t just come over night and it takes a lot of time , hard work, and practice to get where you want to go. You have to be able to over come self doubt , humility , and ego to get where you want to go in life. I want the world to know what I stand for . I stand for beating addiction, educating and empowering yourself, and standing up for yourself and against wrong doings.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Universal studios is a must, going down to La Jolla coves is a great spot , thousand Steps beach and Three Arch Bay in Laguna Beach are so beautiful. Tacos are my favorite so exploring great taco places. There’s one in Sylmar called Guanatos Tacos which are really good.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say a lot of the artists I studied have brought me as far as I have on this journey so far. A big credit would be the artist by the name of “Daylyt” who shaped me into the way I think and move. Watching him and learning from him changed my entire life. A lot of other artists stories that inspire me are NBA Youngboy, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, Drake and so on.
