We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Wilkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevor, what do you attribute your success to?
“You got two ears and one mouth for a reason,” that’s what my grandma always used to say to me and I think that’s been a big contributing factor in my success. I wasn’t always a fan of it but as I got older and more curious I realized that the wiser folks around me were always listening, studying, and taking notes – especially when people are talking. I think this is one of the major things that has contributed to my success

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Serendipity has played a major role in my career. I believe that the success I’ve had has come from my ability to adapt and adjust to the options in front of me and turn them into opportunities. If there’s anything I’ve learned along the way is that bs can be the best fertilizer if you let it be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmm great question! I’m a big beach guy and Manhattan is my favorite so that’s a must in my book. Food wise, you gotta go to the neighborhoods. I love Mexican food and LA is full of it but my favorite spot is Al & Bee’s in Boyle heights. I think you’ll find some really cool folks and eats in the west Adams area and if you wanna catch a cool vibe and hear some good music at night, gotta hit Blind Barber.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Gotta shout out my family overall but I wanna give a special shout-out to my maternal grandfather and my middle school football coach. Those two come to the top of mind when I think about the the values and drive that have gotten me where I am.
