Meet Tsitsi Hungwe | Chief Executive

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tsitsi Hungwe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tsitsi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business, Higher Mountaintops, LLC in 2021 during a pivotal moment in my life. As a dentist by trade at the height of my career I found myself at a crossroads, seeking a new direction and a deeper sense of meaning. This search led me to explore new avenues for growth and support, which is when I crossed paths with my incredible mentors Dr. Nicole Rankine, Cedrick LaFleur, and Angela Hooper-Menifield. Their entrepreneur bootcamp program provided the guidance I needed. By the end of the program, Higher Mountaintops, LLC was born.
As Founder and Chief Executive of Higher Mountaintops, LLC we help early career women prepare for their next career chapter. Whether they are just starting their careers or exploring alternative career paths. We offer coaching, leadership training, keynote speaking, and assessments designed to help them navigate their journey with clarity and confidence. For me, this work is deeply personal as it’s my way of giving back. I started Higher Mountaintops, LLC and it is a core part of the legacy I want to leave behind for those coming up after me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I refer to myself as an immigrant leaving my footprint across the globe, and I’m incredibly proud to be a Zimbabwean-American. Throughout my life, I’ve undergone many personal and professional transitions from moving between Zimbabwe and the U.S. to practicing dentistry, and eventually starting Higher Mountaintops, LLC. My journey has been full of diverse experiences and today I’m honored to serve as an early professional career transition coach, speaker, corporate trainer.
The pandemic was a pivotal moment for me. It compelled me to confront the brevity of life and the greater meaning of life. Having navigated the highs and lows of life’s transitions, I know firsthand that all things are possible, and the “higher mountaintops” as my business is named are truly attainable.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of having a sense of purpose and trusting the process. My mentor, Angela Hooper-Menifield, often speaks of the importance of listening to the voice within. Trusting the process as my mentors have taught me, means living a life with no regrets and taking action, because why wait? There are people waiting for each of us to share our gifts with the world.
What sets me apart is my commitment to helping early professional women navigate the challenges of career transitions whether they are starting, advancing or exploring alternative career paths. My firsthand experiences in the past enable me to connect with others on a deeper level, and I am passionate about equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to successfully step into their next chapter. This is my way of giving back, and I couldn’t be more proud of the journey that has brought me here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing parents, Kedmon and Chipo Hungwe. They raised me with the belief that there are no limitations in life and always encouraged me to reach for the stars and to have mentors. Through their own example, they showed me how to live boldly and dream big. My dad has often said, “no one is self-made” and I wholeheartedly believe that.
I also want to give recognition to my mentors the Co-founders of the Business Excellence and Impact Group Dr. Nicole Rankine, Cedrick LaFleur, and Angela Hooper-Menifield. Their guidance has been instrumental in helping me start and grow Higher Mountaintops, LLC. They are champions of the success of others and serve as constant sources of inspiration, reminding me of the importance of excellence and trusting the process. I dedicated my 2024 Amazon best-selling journal, “Master Career Transitions: Unveiling 6 Essential Strategies” to them as a thank you for paving the way.
