We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyriek A. Murphy, MPA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyriek A., is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most essential, yet truly inspirational, facet behind the success of Murphy Enterprise Solutions (MES) is the iconic historical underrated sports figure named Cisero Murphy. MES and all of the business components under its umbrella have some form of inspiration from the world’s ONLY African American Professional Billiards World Title Winner and BCA Hall of Fame Inductee. Cisero Murphy’s determination to be the best and to do it in a uniquely fashioned plan is the core of MES approach on delivering the luxurious quality professional and leisure services to a wide array of multifaceted perspective clientele. Despite the many organizations or brands in the world, particularly the U.S., none of them can firmly say their entity was founded on the principle of a historical gentleman whom accomplishments still stands untouched while simultaneously remaining current day Sports/American/Black History.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As stated before, MES is a multifaceted business that primarily deals with Business Management / Consulting. Under the MES umbrella are Murphnetti Fashions, Team_MES Athletes, MES Entertainment (Big City Night Franchise Projects and Academic Guides), and Real Estate. MES stands alone because all of our ventures can relate back to our historical inspirational figure regardless what is the topic and clients know that when MES put its hand on it they will get a high quality result and a motivational gem that will ignite an internal fire for excellence. Hints my created hashtag #ItsLevelsToThisExcellence. To get to where I am today, and beyond, like so many other Multipreneurs or Serial Entrepreneurs, you have to be your own relentless driving force. There will be so many obstacles placed indirectly or directly in front of you that you have to feel it in your core to want it and deliver your cunning style to society. One can avoid severe challenges, like failure or miscues, by ensuring each forward step, no matter how small, are on foundationally strong components. The lessons learned, thus far, is you will learn something new everyday and your survival will depend on your ability to adapt to the change in society. The biggest example to this ideology is Covid, no business owner could’ve imagine losing their entity as a result of a health crisis. Business minds across the globe had adapt to the trend of online or contactless business, something that has never been a problem for MES as most of our business is remote, online, and/or contactless since our 2016 inception. Ultimately, when one sees #TheTeflonTriangle (another hashtag coined by myself), they will know MES is behind that product or service and with that comes the highest level of integrity, intellect, and irreplaceable client satisfaction.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It is funny you mention this, based upon my entity being in multiple cities, the itinerary would be absolutely ridiculously long!! However, in the interest of time, I’ll simply say one location for each city. They are, In: El Segundo, CA – Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine New Bern, NC – Moores Olde Tyme Barbeque Brooklyn, NY – Bedford Manor Atlanta, GA – The Boogalou Resturant & Lounge

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, the initial recognitions go to close Family and Friends that have shaped and molded my journey in becoming the man I am today with their true unwavering support whether or not it was in direct benefit to them. Moreover, the person that gives me the most indirect encouragement is my grandfather, Cisero Murphy (1935 -1996). To be a Black man in the time periods in which equality wasn’t equal and be able to set an historical mark in a sport not open to diversity is beyond remarkable. His ability to prioritize between personal and professional affairs to achieve life happiness is the epitome of MES and myself motto.
