Hi Va’rai, Tell us about a book you’ve read and why you like it / what impact it had on you.
One book that has had a profound impact on me is my own book, ‘Unlocking your Renaissance’. Writing it was more than just an act of creation; it was a journey of rediscovery. In it, I reflect on how we each have the power to reinvent ourselves, even when life feels stuck in a repetitive cycle. This book is an exploration of breaking those cycles and tapping into the creativity and strength we all have within us. The impact it had on me was realizing that we can continuously evolve and embrace new paths, no matter how many times we’ve had to start over. This idea has carried me through countless personal and professional challenges, and I hope it offers that same power to others. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I co-own and actively take part in a branding and marketing agency called ‘Unique Consulting’. Our agency works with a wide range of clients, from individuals looking to establish their personal brand to new startups aiming to make their mark in competitive markets, as well as popular brands seeking to enhance their presence. What sets us apart is our holistic approach. We don’t just focus on outward image—we dive deep into the mindset, goals, and values of each client, ensuring that their brand is a true reflection of who they are and what they want to achieve.

My consulting journey actually began through self-development. After earning an accreditation as a psychoanalytic and behavioural counsellor, I became certified in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and as a self-actualisation coach. This background gave me the tools to understand not only the psychology behind branding but also how to empower clients to truly unlock their potential. By combining branding expertise with personal growth strategies, ‘Unique Consulting’ creates branding experiences that resonate on a deeper level with audiences, which is what truly sets us apart in this space.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends come to visit me from out of town I take them to my favourite LA hotspots. Some of the places that I absolutely love are; Avra Beverly Hills, Ocean Prime, Mr Chow, Catch, Openaire and sometimes I will grab a salad from Sweetgreens after a gym session at equinox or hot yoga 8. Not only do all of these places serve great food but they also have the finest ambience. My love for Roof-top bars are also an ideal place for me to take my visitors because the breath-taking panoramic views of Los Angeles are priceless.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give recognition to all my past, present and future clients and customers. My branding agency ‘Unique Consulting’ has had the privilege of working with some really dynamic companies over the years, like Google, UFC Gym, Hillsong and numerous other brands have trusted us with their services, so they deserve a shoutout!
