We had the good fortune of connecting with Venture Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Venture, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When it comes to art, in my case, music…you don’t just “give up”. Its part of you, it will always be no matter how heavily you push yourself or how much you choose to slow down.
I always feel bad for those that publicly announce that they are “quitting” their dream.
How can you quit something that brings you joy?
Its not the results for me, yeah..I would love millions of people to stream my music so I can quit everything I’m doing on the side. But, in reality the act of making music and writing is why I do this, it’s part of me.
Besides, I have way too many unreleased songs to give up now. Haha.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I used to try to fit in to be seen, but during this last year I moved from Los Angeles back to the Northwest and I discovered its the opposite. It brought me back to who I really am on the inside and how that comes through in my music. I used to focus on making pop records, now I just focus on making venture records.
The journey can be challenging at times, sometimes it can be very energizing, thats just how everything in life is. Im happy that I have found my own space to be the rockstar I have always been, but still come back down to earth and connect with my inner self.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in the Northwest near Portland, its really under rated how incredible this city is. I was raised out here, and at the time…I didn’t appreciate it the way I do now.
Whenever you come to Portland you should come to explore nature, try new foods, go thrifting, and make time to drive up to the Oregon Coast.
I really love it here now, im happy to be back.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, there are so many people that have touched my life in the most incredible ways. I really just stay to myself, yet the universe this year has brought me to work with such amazing people I am so grateful for. I just want to say shout out to Mike Snell, Andrew Dawson, and Roxanna Baldovin for believing in me and letting me be me. Creating with all of you is one of my most favorite things to do.
