Meet Veronica Harris | LE, Beauty Business Owner & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Accountability and the drive necessary to pursue personal development have been the most impactful lessons I have learned throughout my throughout my career and in business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am in the business of beauty. Beyond the Brow is the name of my company. Brows are my first love; skin health is the second, and wellness is the third. Brow shaping is the pulse of how I love to spend parts of my day by changing lives one brow at a time.
Beyond the Brow was established almost a decade after finishing beauty school. I worked for laser centers and later taught esthetician programs. Unfortunately, both sides of my esthetics career showed an incredible lack of confidence, value, and unconditional self-love among many who came across my path. Interestingly enough, in hindsight, these were things that I now know I lacked as well. My clients and students were a mirror for me to see myself and begin to do something about it!
The pursuit of personal development is what I attribute to the current success of my business and how we’ll get to the next level! Personal development has contributed to the maturation of my business, the work I do, and how I do it. Was it easy? Absolutely not! The level of accountability that it takes to see your flaws and do the work necessary for your evolution without blaming others takes remarkable strength. I overcame the challenge of seeing my shortcomings and fixing them, taking accountability, and making daily decisions to be better today than yesterday. Daily decisions, taking risks, the willingness to bet on myself and the tenacity to keep going have helped me overcome business challenges.
Helping clients start or continue their journey towards healing is our priority. But, can that begin with healthy skin and beautiful brows? My answer is a strong yes. I will never forget when I asked my students to stand in the mirror and state three things they loved about themselves. And, guess how many looked at themselves and immediately began to cry. Or the others that didn’t shed tears yet still could not answer. Or how about those that responded with qualities they did not like about themselves? Heart-wrenching, to say the least!
Building confidence, increasing posture, and seeing the smile within can start with outward changes. But, we don’t stop there. What I am incredibly excited about is an extension of our brand: Beneath the Surface. We created a vision board and guided journal that envelops the personal development exercises I have utilized over the years to aid in my healing. We have them available at Beyond the Brow for our clients and online at www.beneaththesurfacejournals.com.
I want people to know that our brand helps reshape brows, rebuild confidence, and aids those along their journey towards healing!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the Bay Area of California, literally between San Francisco and Sacramento. If a friend was visiting in the spring or summer hint hint, we could go soooo many places. What I love about this area is that you can go 2 hours in any direction and be in a different ambiance. I am an outdoorsy person so I would be attracted to showing off our great outdoors! The great outdoors for us would be Lake Tahoe, the Redwoods, San Francisco area beaches. We’d eat in or on the rooftops of some amazing restaurants in Walnut Creek, Berkeley, Oakland, and Sausalito. There are amazing artists that perform at Yoshi’s in Oakland. There’s also wine tasting in Napa and Sonoma and so much more.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My clients, family, and friends have supported me along the way. I dedicate this to them as a thank you for continued love, support, and encouragement. I have ample support, and it shows from sharing a post, sending a friend, or believing in me when I get another crazy idea. So much of my success is deciding that I WILL NOT give up. And, it’s my network that inspires me to keep going!
