We had the good fortune of connecting with Vi Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vi, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I gave up once and stopped posting my content! Looking back, I wondered what would’ve happened if I continued. I didn’t want to have those what if thoughts anymore and decided to continue. Since then, I got to see my channel grow and am now happy. The key thing is to always remain consistent.

Although I post daily, that doesn’t have to be the pre-requisite. As long as you know what you stand for and have a cadence (I.e. maybe posting certain days of the week or focusing on a niche), it can work out!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I think is fascinating about having my channel is seeing the continuous growth of the space. I once saw this space as unobtainable and somewhat of an “exclusive club” when that was not the case.

Nowadays, people are looking for more relatable creators who show everyday life and products that are worth it for their skin types. In addition, it’s a space for those of us to show our love for our interests!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would first check out melrose avenue or The Grove for popups.

My go to for coffee is the Community Goods.

Then, I would go to either Santa Monica Pier to stroll. Venice Beach is also nearby so I like to visit Muscle Beach and then head out to Abbott Kinney to see the shops there too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to give a special shoutout to my family and two sisters. Next is my friend Jaime. I want to thank all of them for supporting me in real life for my endeavors.

I also would like to give special shoutout to my first fans Unity (@unityjackson) and Melody (@melodyofherseoul). They supported me for the beginning until now and I’m so grateful.
