Meet Victor Mccorvey | Photographer and Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Mccorvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to start my own company since a kid. I never thought it would be a production company but while helping others with their business, I found a new love in Photography and film and decided to take it more serious.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started off making music and while trying to find success in that and learn more about the industry I learned all of the ins and outs of being an artist. I knew if I wanted to be successful I would have to take it serious and know everything that it would take including the business side of things and not just the art. I teamed up with a friend that was into film and I helped him get some practice in with some local artists and we starting shooting music videos. While helping him I would do the BTS content and people loved my work and that’s when I decided to take it serious. Although it seemed like everything was falling in place, it definitely wasn’t easy. I had a lot of obstacles working with people but I never looked at it as taking losses as long as I learned lessons from every experience. While only being a photographer for a year, I got to work with many big artists and got to work for award shows with the help of others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We might go to Hollywood or Downtown LA to get food at Blu Cafe and then we might explore the City and have a quick photoshoot. After that, we might link up with some other friends that live in the city and make some plans to go out for the rest of the day. I would plan to do something new every day of the week like going Skydiving, going to the shooting range and visiting some the most popular places in town etc.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
