We had the good fortune of connecting with Vincent Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vincent, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Knowing who you are !!! Success comes in all shapes, sizes and forms… the only way to access it is being yourself !!! Being me actually worked.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a graduate of Texas southern University with a bachelors in Music Performance (Jazz/Musical Theatre). I’ve been singing since the age of 9 and in 2013 I was a finalist on American Idol.

I love to sing soul music because it taught me how sing from a place that all listeners can feel. (Motown Music especially).

Music is my life. I teach voice and I’m a praise & worship leader at a mega church in the houston area (13 years).

I’ve also completed a 3 month residency in Jeje Island South Korea and soon to be performing in Moscow Russia once the borders open up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well we will go eat at my fav restaurant https://www.vitellosrestaurant.com/. Then work it off at Runyon canyon. After, we will hit the strip in West Hollywood where it’s always a good time with all of my musician / entertainment friends Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out American Idol for giving me a chance and opening the door to so many opportunities!!! The best is yet to come !!!
