We had the good fortune of connecting with Walter Nicoletti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Walter, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success, and the success of my brand, has been clarity of vision combined with consistency over time. From the beginning, I knew exactly what I wanted to focus on: acting, films, meaningful storytelling, and creating real opportunities for filmmakers who are often overlooked. I never tried to be everything at once; instead, I committed fully to a specific mission and built everything around it step by step.
Another key factor has been credibility earned through results. Whether as an actor, producer, or distributor, I’ve always believed that trust is built by doing the work seriously, respecting filmmakers, and delivering concrete outcomes festival selections, theatrical screenings, and international recognition. That approach is what allowed Voce Spettacolo to grow from Matera into an international brand with a presence in Hollywood.
Finally, I think human relationships have played a decisive role. This industry is built on people. Listening, being transparent, and sharing the same passion for cinema have allowed me to create long-term collaborations and a strong network that continues to support the brand’s growth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Voce Spettacolo was built with a very clear purpose: to create real, concrete opportunities for films and filmmakers, and to do it with seriousness, strategy, and respect for the art of cinema. What sets us apart is that we don’t treat films as products to simply place in a market. We build tailored paths around each project, combining creative sensitivity with a strong understanding of how the industry works, especially at an international level.
I started this journey in Matera, coming from an acting background, then moving into producing, and eventually into distribution. Business-wise, nothing happened overnight. Voce Spettacolo grew step by step, through years of work, relationships, and consistency. Today, the company is proudly based in Matera, with a representative office in Los Angeles at 9100 Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills, one of the most iconic buildings in the city. That bridge between a small Italian city and the heart of the global film industry represents exactly who we are.
It was not easy. There were many challenges, limited resources, skepticism, doors that stayed closed for a long time, and moments when believing in the vision required real resilience. I overcame those challenges by staying focused, continuing to learn, and never losing sight of my long-term goal: reaching the highest level of recognition in cinema. That belief ultimately led to concrete results, including an Academy Award of one of the short films we supported: and international recognition, which validated over a decade of hard work.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that credibility is built through actions, not words. Trust comes from delivering results, being transparent, and standing by filmmakers even when the path is complex. I’ve also learned that persistence matters more than talent alone, and that relationships, when built on respect and shared passion, are the true foundation of any lasting business in this industry.
What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that it’s possible to start from a small place, stay true to your identity, and still operate on a global stage. Voce Spettacolo is proof that with vision, consistency, and belief, cinema can open doors far beyond any geographical boundary.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d design the week around Los Angeles, blending cinema, culture, food, and those moments that really capture the spirit of the city.
I’d start in Beverly Hills, walking around the area near Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Drive soaking in the atmosphere and stopping for coffee nearby. From there, I’d head toward West Hollywood and Hollywood, visiting iconic spots connected to film history: the Hollywood Walk of Fame, classic theaters, and studios, including the Hollywood Sign because understanding LA always starts with cinema.
A few days would be dedicated to the creative side of the city. I’d take them to independent cinemas and screenings, industry events if possible, and neighborhoods like Burbank, Silver Lake and Echo Park, where you really feel the artistic energy of Los Angeles. These areas are perfect for relaxed dinners, conversations, and meeting interesting people from the film and creative world.
We’d definitely spend time by the ocean: Santa Monica and Venice Beach are essential. Mornings would start with walks along the beach, followed by brunch, and evenings would be for sunsets, casual drinks, and just enjoying the laid-back side of the city.
Food would be a big part of the experience. LA is incredibly diverse, so I’d mix high-quality restaurants with hidden local spots places where you sit, talk, and stay longer than planned. To end the week, I’d plan something simple but meaningful, like dinner with friends or colleagues, sharing stories and ideas.
For me, what makes Los Angeles special isn’t just the landmarks, it’s the people, the openness to possibility, and the feeling that creativity is always in motion. That energy is what I’d want my best friend to take home with them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Nothing I’ve built happened in isolation. First and foremost, my shoutout goes to the people and friends that shaped me early on in Matera. Coming from a small city, it wasn’t always easy to imagine a path that could lead to the international film industry, but that environment gave me discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of identity. Those roots have stayed with me even as my work expanded internationally.
I also want to acknowledge the filmmakers who trusted me, especially in the early days, when Voce Spettacolo was still growing and my vision was more a promise than a proven result. Their belief pushed me to raise my standards and take full responsibility for the stories they were putting in my hands.
Another important shoutout goes to the industry professionals, festivals, and organizations in Los Angeles who opened doors, offered guidance, and helped me understand how this industry truly works at a global level. Every conversation, every collaboration, and every moment of mentorship contributed to refining both my vision and my strategy.
Finally, I want to recognize cinema itself. Believing deeply in the power of film—its ability to inspire, connect people, and cross cultural boundaries—has been the constant driving force behind everything I’ve done. Cinema shaped my ambitions, guided my choices, and continues to fuel my passion every single day.
