We had the good fortune of connecting with Wanda Martin Woodard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I guess I threw myself into business before realizing that’s what I was doing. When my merchandise required me to open my online store and orders began to come in then I realized I am a business owner. Wow I never would have dreamed of becoming. For one during my childhood, I had different dreams. When I first started, I said to myself, are you really doing this? I stopped thinking and questioning myself and fell in line with my passion as I create with excitement and drive to be the best I can be in business and to see the smiles on people’s faces after purchasing from my online store gives me joy and I am grateful. Sometimes we don’t realize what sparks that ignite fires within us and the passion we have. I say all of that to say when I began to research my family’s history, I learned there were so many entrepreneurs, and I was truly inspired. My prayer is to one day open a brick and mortar.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I remember riding the bus while going to pick up my two small children from school and H.O.P.E. Victorious came to me and I began to pray. What does that mean and healing oppressed people eternal was birthed into an organization that encourages women across the globe who are broken so that they can reach their goals and aspirations and that victory is in reach! Believing they are victorious. Our weekly podcast encourages women to get their joy, peace, and confidence back. Our goal is to empower women to win against all odds, don’t quit, don’t give up, you can make it. When life chips away at their goals and dreams, they can still rise and succeed. Through our in-person conferences and virtual book clubs has inspired and helped so many women to soar and to reach their goals and aspirations.

One of our essential programs is our virtual book talk that reaches around the globe. It allows women to feel comfortable in a private setting to discuss and elaborate on our books “Shattered But Not Broken”, “A Diamond In The Garden” and our new book will be added to the club “Get Your Fight Back” No matter how broken they are, pieces can be mended. No matter what shape, size, height, or color, you are a diamond that shines so bright. We are dedicated and committed to serving as mentors and supporters to women in businesses and the community. We inspire to aspire.

Facing some challenges along the way being in a relationship at one time, believing it was forever a fairytale dream of mine turned into a long toxic relationship. So, my journey wasn’t smooth. I trusted God to turn my life around and to make every crooked path straight. Learning how to put myself first and take care of me. I dove into entrepreneurship after leaving a long-hindering relationship. One of my dreams was being a Personal Care Enthusiast after realizing how self-care and relaxation was so important and needed in our lives. I wanted to create something that would brighten up someone’s day while relaxing at home with my products that would infuse hope, faith, and inspiration. I’ve learned in every dark place there’s light at the end of the tunnel. You must keep pushing to get there and not give up.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite places to go on Sunday morning is Church. I also love to feed and give clothes to the unhoused. One of my favorite places to eat now recently becoming a vegan would be “Hart House”.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am grateful to my mother and father for being great parents that raised my sisters and I in a faith-based home and taught us morals and values in life. They encouraged me to be the best I could be, and no dream is too small. I’m thankful for my two children who are my biggest supporters. Family is very important to me. It takes a village.
