Meet Welder Santos: Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Welder Santos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Welder, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I realized that through my career I could make a living by inspiring others and give them an escape from reality for a moment in time. I remember after performing a one act play at a studio in Los Angeles an audience member approached me after the show to tell me how impacted he was through the performance and that he saw himself in the character I was portraying. Seeing this persons joy in something I was doing is mostly why I chose to live as an artist.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is me. We’re all unique and embracing that is what sets me apart from others. Every experience I’ve had in life I contribute that into my craft. I’m mostly proud of how some people get inspired to go after what they really want when they see me doing well with my career. I got to where I am professionally by investing time and money into my craft. I took my headshots with the top rated photographers in the business and trained acting for over 5 years before my first ever role in a movie. It wasn’t easy but that’s just part of the journey. To overcome challenges consistency was key for me when I needed to get to the next step in my career. Throughout the journey the lessons I’ve learned is to never give up and that to get results you have to put the work in. I want the world to know that the most amazing things in life don’t come easy, but if you put the work in you’ll always look back and say it was worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever any of my friends come visit LA I always take them to The Grove. It’s an area that has a farmers market, some really nice restaurants, and great retail stores. You can eat, go shopping. and even catch a movie all in the same location. Runyon canyon is also really nice. It’s a great hiking spot to get a workout in. you also get to see some amazing views of the city as you follow the trails.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that definitely deserve the most credit throughout my journey as an actor is my aunt Sueli. I was in college choosing between getting my bachelors in Aeronautical Science or Accounting until she suggested I do acting and modeling. She saw some potential in me as an artist that I didn’t even know I had. She paid for my first photo shoot and even took me to a talent agency to get signed. A few months later I was already getting booked for TV commercials and appearing in print ads.
