We had the good fortune of connecting with Wendy Alane Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wendy Alane, what do you attribute your success to?
For me success takes relentless effort and you have to be doing what you love and doing it for a reason bigger than yourself. My brand is successful because I really care about people achieving their own goals and dreams. I don’t want to see anyone die with their dream still in them. I put my heart and soul and most of my waking moments into helping people get past their own fears, procrastination, self-doubt and build them up into people who believe in themselves and can take action on their goals. I love what I do.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been a Agent and then a Talent Manager in Hollywood for over 20 years. I have a deep passion for artists and people who have big dreams and want to share their heart and arts with the world. I have been very upset by the decline of support for artists in the public school systems; slashing theater and music programs. I think that is a very big mistake for a society that relies on the contributions of artists to bring beauty and culture in the world. Additionally, as a Talent Rep I have seen that actors come out of acting school or theater programs completely unprepared for the business side of show business and because of that the majority of them fail. I feel compelled to bring them the knowledge that I have from this side of the desk so every actor has a greater chance for success and a real opportunity to live their dreams. I started a You Tube Channel 7 years ago called “Secrets of a Hollywood Talent Manager” which now has over 4.5 million views and is now the #1 channel on You Tube for actors. I am proud that I get to help hundreds of thousands of people get their acting careers started. It’s inspiring to hear from viewers that because of me they now believe in themselves, or they now have an agent, or they are in a film or TV show. I feel blessed to be a blessing and I am excited for them. I know people can be successful if they have the right information, have some one who believes in them and they stick to it and work hard for it. I am the greatest cheerleader. I am most proud of the online school I created “Hollywood Winners Circle Academy” which trains actors from all over the world how to get their acting businesses started and create successful positive lives. Our school is now recommended by Talent Agents, Managers and Casting Directors as “mandatory training.” Our students this year have been nominated for an Oscar, won an Emmy and have appeared in hundreds of TV shows, films and commercials. Hollywood Winners Circle Academy (HWCA) for actors is like law school for attorneys and med school for doctors.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love places that have a great view so Perch in LA is fun they also have live music on weekends, I love experiencing different cultures so I often go to Wat Thai Temple in North Hollywood which replicates the traditional Buddhist temples in Thailand. It is beautiful and magical! I love art and artists so a drive to Laguna beach to see the arts shows and sawdust art festival is always fun! There is a beautiful fair-trade artisan shop in San Clemente called Tyger Lotus which imports beautiful items from all over the world from small villages which lets people earn a living selling their art. I recently bought a beautiful vase from a local Turkish artisan and a duvet cover from a villager in Nepal. That amazes me. I like when I can help people survive and thrive.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have spent years learning from people like Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer and Oprah Winfrey. To me they are people who are also rooting for the best in us.
