We had the good fortune of connecting with William Diorel E. Villanueva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William Diorel E., why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued this career path because of a dream, and because of my love and passion for creativity. I mean, why spend time dreaming about something when you can actually make it happen? March to the beat of your own drum instead of always following the rules.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It started as a dream and a passion for singing at a young age. Growing up in a family that was musically and creatively inclined, it almost felt like it was already in me. I remember seeing old family photos of my grandmother performing in our hometown, which made me realize that creativity and performance were already part of my roots.

I’ve always loved singing. As a kid, I spent a lot of time doing karaoke, and eventually I even joined a karaoke club of sorts in college while I was studying computer graphics. Around that time, a friend introduced me to an app called Smule. It started as just a karaoke platform for me, but when I began uploading content to YouTube, without really knowing what I was doing, that became the beginning of both my music journey and my content creation path.

Smule also became the place where I first learned how to write music, after a friend showed me how to express myself through songwriting. It’s also where I started exploring voice acting, which later led me to another platform called BandLab, where I began recording more professionally and eventually releasing music on streaming platforms.

On top of that, I later discovered that my mother had originally wanted to become a journalist, and my grandfather was also involved in journalism professionally. That inspired me in a different way—it pushed me to start writing stories, comics, and developing scripts. I didn’t realize at the time how useful that would become, but it eventually led me into scriptwriting for B-it Studios. And with that, I’m really excited for what’s coming next, especially with Andromeda, which will be dropping soon.

Was it easy? No, because once you step out of your comfort zone and leave those apps behind, the world starts to feel much bigger. You begin to wonder what’s next. That’s why it’s important to find like-minded creatives and build a community around you, so you can move forward and grow together instead of doing it alone.

Which is why I’m grateful that I don’t have to travel by myself. I have people to lean on along my path, helping me push my expertise out into the world.

Shout out to Planet Astro Inc—specifically Sociomedia TV and the Psychobuzz Podcast—for giving me the opportunity in music and content creation, and to B-it Studios for helping me create stories and bring my vision to life through acting and scriptwriting.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, in Burbank—especially downtown Burbank, California—there are a lot of great places. There are several malls, a movie theater, and plenty of restaurants offering different types of cuisine. It’s really a melting pot of cultures all in one place, which makes it such a vibrant and interesting area to explore.

But in all honesty, I would take them to a Korean BBQ place, or even to a fried chicken spot called bb.q Chicken, which is just around the perimeter and within walking distance.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this to both Planet Astro Incorporated and B-it Studios for making this journey much smoother and more manageable. Without their support, I don’t think I would have been able to push myself this far, especially navigating this path independently. Having a strong support system to rely on has made all the difference when things get complicated.
