Meet William Zakrajshek | CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with William Zakrajshek and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi William, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The festival Out at the Fair was created first, then our streaming channel OutAt.TV so as our OutAt brands expanded over the pandemic our company was born. We created OutAt Inc with the mission to create safe spaces and include all members of the community to feel appreciated, accepted, and welcomed. OutAt puts the LGBTQ+ artists and family-friendly events as our main focus.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
OutAt empowers the whole community through events & streaming by focusing on diversity, education, and family-friendly fun. We created the first national LGBTQ+ festival Out at the Fair® which currently has ten locations in four states which include Alaska, California, Oregon, and New Mexico. The innovation didn’t stop with in-person events, during the pandemic we launched OutAt TV which gives community artists a platform to stream their music videos 24/7 and has additional on-demand content available showcasing some of the best talent.
Creating a business that serves a particular market segment is never easy but with the right momentum and team anything is possible. This Fall 2022, we were accepted into Techstars, Austin TX a business accelerator to help us reach our full potential. With their help our goal is to break out into new markets, expanding the reach of the LGBTQ+ community and doing it all with a family-friendly day of entertainment. With the goal to give every family a place to enjoy entertainment with their family & in return, we are able to build a strong foundation for community artists to thrive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When people come visit we for sure have some SoCal staples which can’t be passed on. From some amazing places to eat like The Cliff in Laguna Beach and En Fuego in Del Mar both are close to the beach with great food. Some activities people always request to do are taping a show in LA, hit the beach in San Diego or even explore the world famous San Diego Zoo. But you don’t always have to spend money to enjoy the SoCal weather so jumping in the pool at our house & grilling has turned into a huge appeal when friends and family visit. Giving everyone some R&R while experiencing the best food of SoCal, tacos!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our shout out is dedicated to all the artists who performed in 2022 at Out at the Fair, our incredible emcees who traveled with us all summer, the LGBTQ+ community for coming out and supporting events like this. To my partners Caleb and Daniel who put up with all the crazy this type of job has because this business wouldn’t be here with out them. We couldn’t forget to thank Techstars Austin, TX for accepting OutAt Inc in their business incubator to skyrocket our mission to the next level.
