Meet Xarxay | Electronic Music Producer and DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Xarxay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Xarxay, what principle do you value most?
Be yourself and never try to duplicate someone else’s personality. People like and love you because you are like no one else. You are unique. Even people who are envious of you secretly like you. This is why creating music and art should reflect your own personality. This is what sets you apart from others.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am human. My career has always been around assisting and helping others. When someone else’s life is genuinely fulfilled at any given moment. Seeing them smile with satisfaction makes me feel accomplished. The world is a better place with genuine happiness. This is where creating positive energetic music can be healing. I get excited and emotional when people can come together as a human race when feeling and dancing to the music. When you are at a concert. A music festival. A music venue. A nightclub. We ALL share one thing in common. The love for music and how it makes us feel. At that moment, we forget race, nationality, gender, religion, politics, and whatever else that causes segregation. It’s because at that moment we are all flowing with happiness. It’s not just the artist. It’s the music. Music is fluid and sees no red light. It’s always green. GO and make friends and memories that last a lifetime. There are no boundaries. Making this is never easy. But when it is made easy in plain sight. This is when it’s on the surface and also when it’s the best. As this is when it’s raw and not polished.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This depends on the best friend (I have a few) as I would not take them all to the same place. But here are a few places that I generally would start for all of them
Jones Hollywood – The atmosphere is amazing and they have some of the best spicy calamari.
Urth Caffe – Any location. My fav is the green boba tea. Plus it’s LA fav.
USS Iowa Museum – I’m a history geek. You actually get to go into the battleship!
The Abbey WeHo – The LED visuals behind the bar are amazing here.
Early morning hike to the Hollywood sign – Yes it’s cliché but you get a birds eye view of both LA and the valley.
The synthesizer museum – Never been here. (need a reservation) Plan to go soon one day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This question reminds me of when Michael Jackson first received his Grammys. There were too many people that contributed to his initial success. So thanking these individuals would be endless. However he was able to name inspirations just as Diana Ross, Qunicy Jones, and his family.
The first that comes into my head is my father who sacrificed moving his family away from our hometown to a remote Montana. This is where I was able to gain musical influence from many genres. I no longer had tunnel vision for music. My best friends in Nashville and Chicago also contributed heavily to this. They know who they are.
Brian Warner, Keith Flint, Maria Brink, Joel Zimmerman and Ari Herstand have also given me motivation. It was more than just their music that motivated me. It was their philosophy. Their “geekdom” and technical ability. By the way, if you don’t know who these people are just Google the name :).
